Waiting for: Kara no Kyoukai: Boukyaku Rokuon OST

BTW there is Kalafina interview in the special booklet that comes with limited edition :O
I'm not sure if i'll can it yet though >_< (probably will... just at some much later time)
 
Just finished watching Kara no Kyoukai Tokubetsu Bangumi -Zen Nana-shou no Kiseki- which was a TV special chronicling the success of the Kara no Kyoukai series, and to build up hype for the 7th movie's theatrical release on the 8th (oh man, what I wouldn't give to be in Shinjuku right now). The bulk of the special was a recap of the past 6 movies, and some interviews with the staff and fans. There was a very short shot of the Aniplex Producer Atsuhiro Iwakami who signed my copy of Garan no Dou at Anime Boston.

There was a brief mention about how Kajiura-san scored the series and formed Kalafina. A brief clip of Kalafina performing Oblivious and Aria live was also shown. I wish they had gotten either Yuki or the band to talk more about the movie.

Gah, can't wait until the 7th movie comes out on DVD, and here how Seventh Heaven gets woven into the theme. Too bad the DVD won't be out until December at the earliest. :comeback:

Well...M01 maybe sth appropriate to cover Fairytale short version..(coz my Kajiuran singing is so suck!!! :omgwtf: )

I love the way that Fairytale melody was used in M06+07 and M18, and M15+16+17 is exactly the highlight of this OST!!!
 
By the way, did you read the last news about KnK? A Kara no Kyoukai Epilogue to be released as OVA or movie (not confirmed yet >_<).
Maybe recycled music but not recycled ED (like the remix... XD) :ohoho:

Omg, does this mean Recalled Out Summer?? That would be so awesome. And would hopefully mean a new theme and OST to go along with it. Any links to this news?
 
I think this epilogue is named as Kara no Kyoukai, so isn't Recalled Out Summer.

I like Yuki's intuition on this one. She probably knew she would have to combine theme songs and bgm as far back as Movie 2 or 3 (tho 2 was quite different from the original theme) (no, i never really remembered the titles right)

She wrote them in the same key or in compatible ones, i suppose.



What i really hated and was disappointed with is the lack of huge epic choirs in the battle theme.

I mean, yea sure, it sounds cool and all, it even gave me a few chills, (I especially loved the very dynamic violins ) but just dubbing a vocalist a few times (2-3?) or using 2 vocalists in stead of choirs AT LEAST as imposing as the 5th movie's battle theme had quite a "turn-off" effect. For me, at least.

Also, real latin could have sounded waaay more epic than the weird impro she did with her kajiuran. Or she could have used both. Like the vocalist till 4:50 and the the huge epic choir. (because i liked the climax at 4:49-5:00)

The song had great potential but ..i dunno..,she ruined the potential i had in mind.

The new melody of the battle theme i really liked. Melancholic and powerful. But it somehow gives me the feeling of being transported in some of those old movies of the 50s or of some of the greatest bands of the 70s' works...You know..ABBA, BZN and such... But that might have been partially the fault of the bass ...and the singing style....

Overall it was an good ost, a very good one, in Yuki terms (as opposed to the not-so-awesome-but-ok OST of PH )...At least that's solely my opinion.

Key points:

1) Choirs in the battle theme would have been divine.
2) Real Latin or a better immitation of it would have been more epic for me
3)Weird feeling given by the vocals
4) Less money on lives and more on real choirs and the sort. Altho i suppose lives gather a bit of income too. (Seeing as we're going to Kajiura Live 10 )
5) I hope she does epic in the real sense of the word with movie 7. EPIC it must be!

Choirs Yuki, Choirs, you used to like them, as i recall.

Anyways, i've written a novel, so i'll stop.

Edit: This REALLY got me in a composing mood. Malheureuxement, i can't do anything yet -_-...
 
Latin is overused.

Kajiuran > Latin

Also, i dont think a choir would've fit that scene, since the battle wasn't really epic at all.
 
its a good battle but its too short to put choir in it. Also I found the battle theme of this chapter fine, it was completely fitting :dote:
 
I got mine today! hehe I love the soundtrack. Haven't watched the film yet. :dote: M6 and M12 are brilliant. I love all the instrumental Fairytale songs too. I was expecting them (kalafina) to start singing the song with the 1st track. lol I think this is the best one out of all of them, even though I really like the 3rd soundtrack. heh

If latin's overused, a slavic language would have been awesome, imo.
But i suppose you're right about the scene, it wasn't THAT epic...and the movie seemed too short. lol. But..that compared to the 5th one
