My last post here went unnoticed but I hope someone's listening to it. Here's another westerner: Trevor Jones!

Trevor Alfred Charles Jones (born 23 March 1949) is a South African orchestral film score composer. Although not especially well known outside the film world, he has composed for numerous films and his music has been critically acclaimed for both its depth and emotion.

Trevor Jones has written gorgeous theme music for cinema. Great melody lines and arrangements of that melody line can be heard throughout the films he composed for. Merlin, one of his soundtracks, is childhood favourite of mine.
