tiny desk concerts JAPAN

It’s just a 1-10 scale showing enthusiasm. I think it’s a little funny that everyone else seems energetic while she’s so much more relaxed
She's always had a "tragic cute" in her stage persona, and photos.

A more reserved personality it seems, while the FJ girls are all more outgoing by default.

Using your scale, LiSA's not far from her "enthusiasm" level. Just the smile takes her to a 5, right? 😉

From the NHK page above,
Kajiura entirely produced the vocal unit Kalafina.

Do we think some people will be pressed with no mention of Kalafina on Alleluia?
Granted "Homura" was released as LiSA's song and isn't credited here as hers either...

Edit:
Mind you - I am saying this as someone who also finds this a little weird, 'cause Kajiura is generally pretty good about crediting the original recordings on her website's live setlists. Maybe she wasn't involved with how this page was phrased.

That idea did not cross my mind at all but you're right to 'worry' a bit, haha. But at this stage I don't think things like this will cause any big ripples anymore...?

I don't particularly care with the potential reaction, but I also find it a little weird considering how YK tends to credit the original performers on her website setlists. The NHK article is probably not curated by her...

Bless those people.

I don't think it's necessary. Doing that could still still invite the same reaction from Kalafina-only fans: that others are not supposed to sing the song.

Assuming that she (or her team) decided not to put the "Kalafina" name, it could be interpreted as a statement of sorts, or just not wanting to invite the drama since HKW are not there but their names are being invoked. Then again, it might just be the Tiny Desk crew that put the song list together and just labeled the expected/present performers.

"Sokyu no Fanfare" was listed with the Kajiura/FictionJunction and didn't mention all the original singers (ASCA, etc.), so following that logic, it would be out of place to list Kajiura/Kalafina for "Alleliua".

Well, not really.

"Sokyu no Fanfare" is still a "FictionJunction" song, albeit originally featuring different singers than in this performance, who are listed.
The original recorded release of "Alleluia" is by Kalafina, even if Kajiura wrote and produced it, Kajiura is not officially "Kalafina"...

So, no, not really the same.

But, like I said, I don't think they put much thought into it in this article because of how LiSA's song is also listed.

Of course you're right about SnF's original studio (and first-live) roster of guest singers, but for me Kalafina music (not the individuals) is a subset of Kajiura so if she didn't mention their name on a cover, it's still all good. I am not sure if she's mentioned "Kalafina" on her other YKL setlists where she performed music written for Kalafina.

If I was a Kalafina-only fan, didn't know Kajiura and wasn't part of this forum, I might have taken their side and felt somehow about it.

Mate, we're not talking about how we "feel" but about crediting shite. ^_^

And again, I don't think it's malicious toward Kalafina specifically, because of "Homura" also being presented odd there.

I just don't think anyone put much thought into this here; or how some people, like me, could read (into) it.

PS. PLUS, I don't think there's any drama yet, lol. This was all just hypothetical on my part seeing the article. (see me "reading into it" above)

I get what you're saying about people reading into things, but I don't think it can be helped either way.

I went back to look for the Kaji Fes. 2023 Day 2 official setllist, https://fictionjunction.com/kajifes2023/news/1165 which included Kalafina songs (with both Hikaru and Keiko on stage), and the group name wasn't in the listing, so it wasn't matter of their being any "beef" or anything like that, as the Kalafina Reunion hadn't been announced. I just think it's an example of how things have been done in the past.

The Tiny Desk setlist, on the other hand, being individual songs, had each set of performers listed under each song.

Again,
I don't think it's malicious.
I don't think it's intended for someone like me to pick apart.

And I don't mean to start a debate or a smear campain against anyone.

I guess the credit in FJcom setlists is actually the source album release & its artist (rather than the original performer of the songs), which this article doesn't really specify.

It just is what it is with this article at the end of the day. Someone happened to list "FictionJunction" and "FictionJunction YUUKA" in addition to Kajiura Yuki on their respective songs, but did other things on Alelluia and Homura.

It's unfortunate. Because there are people like me.

I really wish I'd not said anything. Lesson learnt, hopefully.

Of course! I was not saying anything about the act of her covering or performing those songs.

My issue is all about the inconsistencies in this article.

I know I'm digging my own grave here, but
I can't stop thinking about it so, please, bear with me.

Let's say that I am completely wrong in fixating on the "FictionJunction" and "FictionJunction YUUKA" listed in this ARTICLE's setlist as ORIGINAL ARTISTS behind those respective songs (which makes my comment about the lack of "Kalafina" next to "Alleluia" completely irrelevant). I am completely ready to agree I'm wrong, apologize and move on. Because I probably am wrong.

BUT

If those are not the original artists then what are those "FictionJunction" and "FictionJunction YUUKA" next to Kajiura supposed to mean? The current PERFORMERS in THIS tinydesk live? Because what else could they be? Do tell me if you have other ideas.

SO

If those listed artists next to Kajiura are the CURRENT performers in THIS live, then what on earth is the difference between "Parade" and "Sokyu" having "FictionJunction" listed in this setlist as those performers but "Alelluia" having nothing - all the singers and musicians are the same, aren't they?

What is it if not an inconsistency? What's the logic here?

:vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex::vortex:

My brain is literally spiraling out of control. Plz halp. Bring me out of my misery. Put me to the grave I dug.
