^ Brazilian Songs. No "lyrics" at all. No context. No intelligence. Period. :uh..:

Secondly, nearly every single Top-40 song fits into one of these categories: a wronged woman telling her man she doesn't need him; the bragging of a rich hip-hop star; said hip-hop star noticing some gorgeous babe in the club; angsty teenage love, such as the songs of Taylor Swift; somewhat saccharine non-teenage love; or 'they can never be together' love. Even the lyrics of a silly song like Fuwa Pen, Boru Pen, which is about a girl who's going to write a letter to her crush as far as I know, are more original because of the way the topic is treated - instead of a long and badly-rhymed description of the way she feels, we get her talking to the calligraphy pen she's using and saying that it's the best instrument she can use to describe how she feels. I certainly couldn't imagine that sort of topic being used in American pop or rock.

That may be a cultural thing. :ayashii: I know little to nothing about Japanese poetry, but at least from the bits I encountered (and from a lot of Japanese songs translations I read), I have a strong impression that the Japanese prefer to unfold the topic non-directly and metaphorically rather than in a straightforward manner (I say not "instead of", just rather than, to be safe :XD: ). That's why even a pop love song will be about everything from the colour of the sky to a book the character read last evening to his/her lunch menu to philosophy - but not about whamming "Baby, you're the sexiest thing, I miss you so, I wanna make you mine, I love you till the end of time blahblahblahblah". :ohoho: Heck, when I first started writing in my teenage years, I was mainly influenced by Modern Talking, so all my lyrics were like that. I can't read them without laughing now, and at a certain point I got so fed-up myself that I ditched the romance theme for a long time. :desksweat: :XD: This is why I also raise both hands for something imaginative. A wronged woman telling her man she doesn't need him? I'm perfectly alright with such a topic, but why do Western pop stars sing volumes of being wronged and not needing the man, while Yuki's "Cynical World" alone summed it up in a requiem to breaking up and mismatched hearts in ONE song?

Why am I getting an uncomfortable and very fresh deja vu? :uh..:

I wonder.〜

The Foe Yay Fans

This reminds me of AKB48, when Maeda said she thought that Korean guy was handsome.〜

Already lost my interest on English/Western songs.

Try Swedish music.〜

Sweden is perfect.〜

When a band like Hokago Tea Time sings about lunch boxes, it's hard to criticize that reasonably, given that the show's title leave no doubt about the songs they make.

I can't critisize anything Hikasa Youko sings, because Hikasa Youko is boss.〜

Toyosaki Aki needs testosterone injections, though. Her voice sounds like helium on a trip.

^ I've lived my life enough because there's Yuki Kajiura.Well, my taste in music is not just limited to Kajiura.

^ I thought I'd share regardless.

Because sharing is caring, after all, and I do care for you.〜

This time our young guest chose a very good username for her. In Russian it sounds like срачки (srachki), meaning little shit, plural. Great. Just great. :tea:
