The songs I had the privilege of singing with Sound Horizon and Linked Horizon have always given me courage, both during performances and even now, years later. And I believe that this feeling will never change, no matter how much time passes.I am filled with gratitude for the messages in each of these songs that always stay by my side.I was so happy to share this time with all of you

Does anyone have a link to the version of "El no Tenbin" with MIKI Masuda and Kaori?

I wasn't aware they performed together until reading it in this thread earlier today!

Feels like anything from the disc A from the assorted horizons is out of YouTube. But if your search in bilibili.com for assorted horizons you’ll see it as one of the first results (my phone won’t let me copy the link because I don’t have the app or something)

You dont need the app, browsers exist :)

Thanks a bunch! BILI to the rescue!

I was half-expecting Kaori would do the high harmony for the chorus with MIKI in "Eli no Tebin". Nah, she just did low harmony to the violin. 😁
Don't know why I was expecting that.

This was a youthful/less experienced Kaori with a softer voice overall, and the top notes were very high and required a strong soprano to nail in head voice, Aramary and Mari Endo being the only ones who I've seen do it, and with that piercing tone that's required for the effect. I am pretty sure REMI could also do it being a true soprano, and I've heard her hit a C6 in "Seisen no Iberia" (though REMI has a softer/lighter soprano voice).

I am pretty sure current Kaori could hit the notes too, with the recent cover on her YouTube channel and her facility with head voice, though I would wish she sang it in a more classical way.

Thanks ! According to Revo in this interview, the Fubuki Anthem is by him

Im blown away by how muxh people a flipping hologram can gather 😅😆 i personally would prefer going to gym while listening to music, than go to a stage without real people on it.

On another note those reaccuring melodies accross his works are no accident, he seems to do it half-intentionally (and maybe Kajiura too)

First part of the interview with Revo that appeared on TBS television after the broadcast of a preview of Revo's Halloween Party 2024, translated into English: https://note.com/kb_shk/n/n8e6f7721d872
Some really interesting points from Revo (translated using Google):
  1. "I certainly wanted to create stories, and I think at first I was thinking I wanted to make video games." I can imagine his epic stories and characters in a video game format!
  2. "Going back to video games for a second, they have always been something very central to me, so I was probably thinking of music as an interactive medium. Perhaps not just music, but all entertainment." Very interesting insight into his thought process.
  3. "R: [With Linked Horizon] I am essentially writing a derivative work (a fan fiction) of the show I wrote the opening theme for, and in that process I am taking the liberty creating links to my original works in it. Eventually, my own original works also have links in the opposite direction. Eventually, my own original works also have links in the opposite direction. While some things are simply not permitted from an intellectual property rights point of view, it's still important to produce something that has a surprise factor in it for the people who are going to enjoy it, so I will go wherever I need to in order to deliver that." So Linked Horizon is essentially where Revo and Kajiura align in the sense of being a musical review/support of a story they did not create; to bring to life another's vision (as opposed to Revo creating his own stories in SH). I am glad that Kajiura stepped out of SC to take full control of her own musical creations, including the timing and project choice, and a greater share of the benefits from them.
  4. "With Fubuki Shirakami, what was important was her personality, her history, and perhaps most importantly the context of her wanting to build her own kingdom, the "fubukingdom", and… sorry, for everyone watching at home you may suddenly feel you have no idea what I'm talking about, but my work in Sound Horizon revolves around Sound Horizon Kingdom, the idea that we are one kingdom, so in that sense I was a "sempai" king to her. Sound Horizon Kingdom has its own anthem, which perhaps some may see as a novelty or a little joke but it's something we take fairly seriously and earnestly, so when I was approached and they told me that Fubukingdom wants to have its own anthem, and who better than Revo to create that, it truly felt like an honour. And I said, yes absolutely, let's do this." 🤔 I wonder what song in her discography could serve as Kajiura's 'anthem', or if Revo was to write one for her how would it sound...
I am glad that Revo finally got a proper showcase on TBS (9 hours worth!) and I hope more people are able to discover his creative world and he gets more of the applause and success he deserves!

VTubers getting entire music careers and being able to rent venues and bring out people from the virtual world to the real world is amazing!

The great thing about it is that the person behind it can live a normal life free of the intrusive tendencies of fans and media / news outlets.

Another thing I really respect about Japan is how they are somehow (even if only artistically) able to use their history, culture and mythology to somewhat influence their lives rather than just being things relegated to museums.

They re-use metaphysical, historical, artistic, and other elements they've inherited, mixed with what they've adopted (willingly and otherwise) from their interactions with the rest of the world over time into constant and continuous creative output.

It's really something.

Others do it too, like Age of Mythology videogame, it has mythology from Greece Egypt Norse (+ Atlantis even if most of it is actually also based on greek like the automatons, Gaia or Kronos) and lasy year they added Chinese and Japanese just few days ago. https://youtu.be/naM2-2JMe-E?

Very surprising, Tomoyo Kurosawa singing one of Sound Horizon's popular tracks live during her own show!

"In This Narrow Birdcage" popularized by Joelle's wonderful vocal and character, Elizabeth. Not an easy song to sing, and Joelle always made it sound so effortless.

Tomoyo even did some of the voice acting from the original in the interludes.
