Shingeki no Kyojin & Its soundtrack

I am sure most of you have heard of /watched this anime, its considered one of the best of many years, and imo it really is, it has awesome story line, suspence, awesome graphics, and music. Its OP is made by REVO (Sound Horizon), and its ost is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano ("Sengoku BASARA" series, "Mobile Suit Gundam UC", "Blue Exorcist" and "Guilty Crown")

OST releases on July 28, while its OP on July 10.

What's awesome is that OST is standalone http://shingeki.tv/music/soundtrack.php , maybe Yuki should move to Pony Canyon too :ohoho:

Kudos to all who made Shingeki no Kyojin, it has made many fans worldwide now (not yet one of them though, have no time to accomodate this yet... T_T)

And that's nice, having a standalone release for OST. *signal to Yuki Kajiura to no longer make OSTs for Aniplex/Sony - no standalones, open to edits (SAO 2)*

I've been reading the manga and it's an interesting story. Very grim and hopeless. Anime looks to be following the manga exactly.

The OP by REVO is pretty epic, really gets you pumped up.

A random bit of news I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere here:

A few days ago, a radio station hosted by the voice actors of Eren and Mikasa received a letter supposedly from Revo, saying that he would make a guest appearance if they sang the OP live. They did so. However, it's since come out that the letter was a fake. It seems that Revo intends to do the guest segment anyway.

You can hear the voice actors covering the song here: http://great-blaster.tumblr.com/post/51456362679/in-shingeki-radio-for-may-27th-revo-the

And a translation of Revo's blogpost: http://moriido.tumblr.com/post/51651328166/here-i-provided-the-translation-of-revos-entry

There's a lot of giggling, though.
but it was fun

I LOLed at theit effort trying to sing the choir parts
:ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho:

It's funny that I've recommended this to most of my friends but I still haven't seen the first episode... err, the main parts. I skipped after looking at the OP
:XD: :XD:

Now I'm dying to listen to his collab with Mami Yanagi

^ What? The OP animation is A_WE_SO_ME ! Too few anime have this quality of intense scenes and part of the manga too. The OP is a jewl from its own :dote: (unless you dont like scary stuff)

Wow, I just finished watching EDITED: 6 episodes and now, I can't stop myself watching these series! It feels heavy to watch them at first though, so it's better to watch this with an open and strong mind, if you know what I mean...

Also, I agree that the OP fits well in this series. I really want to congratulate Revo on this.

And if this make up poster becomes a reality, well, I'll definitely fall in line to watch this on screen! *though it's going to be R-18 due to its theme ugh*

As for the single of the Opening, why July?! :TdT:

aye! why july?!?! :knife: :knife:
that's too long...

What? The OP animation is A_WE_SO_ME !

What I mean is that I only looked at the anime's 1st episode to check for the OP; I won't miss a release from REVO. I skipped the rest of the anime. BUT I will watch it soon. I just don't have a lot of free time yet,

The OP is a jewl from its own

yes, i agree. I also enjoyed a lot of parody videos of the OP in youtube. I really love the anon version :knife: :knife:

Chiming in to voice my love for Attack on Titan. If it keeps up the quality, it's really shaping up to be my favourite show since Madoka. It might not be a tour de force genre deconstruction or filled to the brim with thought-provoking themes, but it is incredibly entertaining and powerful. I felt the horror of the Titans, and I cheered as Eren vowed revenge. I really sympathized and related to all the characters. It was a very... visceral experience, in the best way.

Of course, having Hiroyuki Sawano as the composer is the cherry on the cake. I own his Guilty Crown soundtrack--one of only 5 or so non-Yuki soundtracks I own. His Attack on Titan soundtrack hasn't stood out as much to me, though there's a really nice piece of vocal music in the latest episode (I tend to like his vocal pieces much better than his instrumentals). But hey, at least Attack on Titan is using his music at the right moments, instead of misusing it all over the place like Guilty Crown did.

And yeah, it's nice to get the soundtracks packaged separately. I dunno if I would've bought the Guilty Crown soundtrack otherwise, and I'd probably consider the Fate/Zero soundtrack if it were sold solo.

Yeah, just read that one as well. Glad that these two opening songs will be present in the single this July.

I wonder who is going to do the second ED though. *wishes its Kalafina/FJ but of course it will never happen :/*

Titans only eat people. Titans eat Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut is Soylent Green. QED.

Also Revo's making the second OP too I guess

LOL :XD:

Wow I was really thiking Revo should do OP 2 too, the first was just too awesome for them to change for the second :dote:

Right, Kalafina is Sony and FJ is Victor (Flying Dog), while the anime is sponsored by Pony Canyon and its music is released by them (OP, ED, OST) so the possibility is 0%. Also Kalafina are busy with their tours and will probably do the songs for Madoka movie 3 and KnK 9, which I bet will be their next singles, release around fall 2013.

I agree. I'm not really a fan of recent new anime releases so this gem is a life saver.
Will definitely get my hands on the OST when the day comes.

This anime shares alot of similarities with Claymore I must add.
Which is cool.

Fetucine >> Thanks for the link.

I can't believe it. I really got addicted to this series that I have finished reading all the scanlated chapters so far until the most recent one.

Given that episode 14, as said in ANN, is going to be a recap episode, I wonder how far will the original material be covered. :ayashii:

I'm almost certain that it'll end with (vague manga spoilers, don't read this if you're just following the anime and haven't read the manga)
the capture of the Female-Type titan and the reveal of what's inside the walls.
They've been going at a pace suited for that since the beginning and it's the only remotely satisfactory point to stop.
