Judging by the news about PSP Vita (formerly known as NGP), Sony's seriously trying to launch another console wars round. :XD: The handheld has a touchscreen AND a touchpad in the back, two analogue sticks, accelerometer, it promises graphics up to PS3 level (not that most current PS3 games are showing anything TOO far above late PS2 yet :psst: )... and they want to make it cheaper than 3DS. Basically, Sony's aiming to test the very strategies it learnt from Nintendo. :ohoho:
And no matter who wins, we gamers will be in for a bunch of good games. :stars:

Do you think so? I think it depends on which genres you are a fan of. I, for instance, gave up on the industry, especially since I'm more into JRPGs, and well, they are pretty much dead.

/me seriously hopes u are joking with that statement :tea:

YMMV, but even if you're skeptical about latest FF/DQ/other mainstream series installments, there are still big players like tri-Ace, Namco Tales Studio or NIS. Atlus also releases nice works apart from Megami Tensei. As to platforms, I don't know too much about PSP, but DS has had some fresh JRPG titles like Avalon Code, The World Ends With You and Rune Factory. So let's be positive and hope the next handheld generation wil also have some aces up its sleeve. :ayashii:

It's just me - I don't see added gloss and definition as something to boast about too much. Then again, as a retrogamer I've never given too much value to graphic side, so I can't judge WHAT level is considered PS3 or PS2, fresh or outdated graphics. :XD:

Even if we do get some aces, there's now the possibility that stupid Nintendo of America won't publish the game lol

Nintendo of America is not the only localizer, so it depends. Projects under Square Enix's wing usually have big odds of travelling overseas. Atlus and NIS not only release a big number of their own works, but often take patronage over other JRPG titles as well (like Summon Night franchise). Marvelous is less frequent, but OK. Namdai, on the other hand, can be a pain in the neck... :knife:

Nintendo 2DS :ohoho:

It says it is not a replacement for the existing line of 3DS.
Its target market are children below 6 years old (or so I've read)

Noticeable changes.
-change/removal of the iconic clam shell design (it doesn't fold)
-home button redesign
-mono speaker (use of microphone still supports sensurround)
-can't show the images/games/videos/menus in 3D
-can still capture 3D images and videos but can't display
-D-pad/circle pad/buttons repositioned
-game cartridge slot repositioned (still supports DS games)
-removal of 3D depth slider and addition of sleep slider
