Minori Chihara 茅原 実里

I ended up having to leave before getting merchandise to get to the Nagareda Project show in Hatsudai with guest vocalists including Manzo and Kaori Oda, then made it back to Pacifico Yokohama in time to get merchandise anyway before the show started.

It was a great show, even though there weren't any large video screens like at Nippon Budoukan or Animelo Summer Live. Pacifico Yokohama has a big stage and two balconies - I was at the back of the first balcony and there were very few empty seats visible. The lighting and set was great, and the band included Kenny on keyboards, Daisensei on violin, the regular guitarist and drummer plus a second guitarist and a different bass player.

The concert started with mellower songs, then 2 old favourites, Final Moratorium and Rinbu Revolution (Minorinbu Revolution?) and one band instrumental and other mellower songs like those from Beyond The Boundary. Encore was Lush Marsh and Jyunpaku Sanctuary, finishing just short of 3 hours just before 9pm. Good atmosphere from the audience and good rapport from Minorin, ending with the trademark "Minna Daisuke" called out without microphone.

Oh, Minorin, Minorin.
She used to be my favourite singer. Now I have a lot of mixed feelings about her.
Contact is one of my favourites albums ever. It´s unique, mysterios and Minorin voice is precious and magical. Her vocals are not perfect compared to, for example, Nana Mizuki's, but her voice is so beautiful that compensates everything.
But then the next albums are so-so. Most of the songs now are like try-hard-kawaii-anime-idol-voice and that really bugs me. Some of her "happy" songs like Key for Life are super funny live, but hurt my ears on the recorded version.
Innocent age was boring af. I got the limited editions of Neo Fantasia a D-Formation and was worth it (Neo Fantasia mostly for the acoustic live DVD) but with Innocent Age I didn´t even bother. Downloaded the album just to see if I was wrong, listened once and never ever opened it again. Booooring ~ The best song of the era, and the only different from the others, Mukai Kaze is not even included so....
However, their symphonic covers as well as the acoustic lives are really really pretty. The one with Crustacea is perfection. You can see her using a calmer, more natural voice that is reaaaally relaxing and beautiful. I can´t undestand she sings most of the time in her fakey-kawaii-voice when she can sing like it.
Anyway, I still think she´s super adorable as a person, she seems super nice and natural. Also I really love her lives, I think I have never ever seem someone having so much fun during a live like she does. There´s a point when you don´t care about the vocls anymore, just seeing her runnig everywhere and smiling makes you happy ♥ The happiness she seems to spread around is probably the think I like the most about her Q//v//Q

茅原実里「MINORI CHIHARA LIVE 2017 "SUMMER DREAM 5"」告知ビジュアル
茅原実里が8月4～6日の3日間にわたり、山梨・河口湖ステラシアターでライブイベント「MINORI CHIHARA LIVE 2017 "SUMMER DREAM 5"」を開催する。

「SUMMER DREAM」は茅原が毎夏、河口湖ステラシアターで実施しているライブシリーズ。今年は初日がアコースティック編成、2日目と3日目がバンドセットで行われる。このうち3日目のライブは茅原にとってソロライブ通算100回目という記念すべき公演となる。オフィシャルファンクラブ「M-Smile」では、明日5月22日12:00～5月29日23:59にチケットの先行予約申し込みを受け付ける。

なお茅原は4月よりライブハウスツアー「Minori Chihara Live Tour 2017 ～Take The Offensive～」を開催しており、5月26、27日に愛知・Zepp Nagoyaでファイナルを迎える。この2公演のチケットは各プレイガイドで販売中。

For anyone who's interested, here's a live recording of Minori Chihara singing the ending song of the upcoming Violet Evergarden anime, みちしるべ (michishirube), during the C3AFASG17 "I ❤ anisong" concert of 25 November 2017. She popped up as a '(secret surprise) special guest' during TRUE's segment, and sang only this one song that evening.

As usual, feel free to let me know if there's any problem with the recording, and I probably won't keep it in there forever, so best to leave a copy elsewhere if you wish to share with others as well.

Minori Chihara also sang that song at Animax Musix Yokohama on 23 November 2017.

I can't recall an unreleased song being sung at multi artist anime song concerts previously.

Thanks for this tidbit. Looking at Animax Musix Yokohama's website, it seems that apart from Chihara, there were also a few other artistes who had to practically rush down to Singapore for C3AFASG17 right after the 23 November 2017 event. Talk about a hectic schedule...
Thanks to your info, I've just gained another level of appreciation for these folks and their efforts. :bow:

Chihara's (secret) segment during the concert was, I'm sure, another part of generating publicity for the Violet Evergarden anime which, along with some other anime, was being heavily promoted elsewhere during the event (e.g. exhibition, artiste & staff stage appearances). Not complaining here, was nice enjoying yet another live (albeit short) performance by her.
