I think we all agree that Kalafina has become a lot more popular in the past few years with the release of Lacrimosa and Magia. More people have started to go to their concerts and their album and single sales have skyrocketed, not to mention of their concerts sold out in ten minutes! And only popular things get memes!!
Definition of Meme:
cultural characteristic passed down generations: any characteristic of a culture, e.g. its language, that can be transmitted from one generation to the next in a way analogous to the transmission of genetic information
Okay... I don't know what that means, anyway for those of you who don't know what a meme is (which is hopefully none of you) I'll try to explain. A meme is a running joke within a fandom which would usually be brought out by narm (things that are meant to be serious but turn out funny) but other things like verbal tics, character quirks ect. What we have here is a girl group with particular quirks and many things that could eventually create what we call memes.
Good? Okay. Let me start with some of my ideas:
-Hikalu (I did not make this one up, I saw somebody comment her name like this and I thought what they hey. The Japanese pronounce their 'L's' like 'R's' which leads to titles like 'Obrivious and Areruya. But when they're trying to say their 'R's' it ends up sometimes sounding like 'L'. This leads to Hikaru's name being pronounced and spelled as Hikalu)
- Wakana likes sharks (We all know for a fact that Wakana is a big fan of sharks. She could spend hours talking about them if she had time and finds them fascinating. This might already be a meme, who knows?)
- NEGAI (The famous line in Magia where Hikaru holds one note for a long period of time to finish of the chorus and move onto the next verse, or end the song. My sister and I have a recurring joke where at any time, any place or any moment one of us would randomly go 'negaiiiiiiiiiiii' in usually a much flatter tone. What do you think?)
