Kalafina on iTunes: How Global they are?

YES! I live on her roof
The recent posts on the thread for far on the water has suddenly got me wondering...
Which of the albums and singles of Kalafina are available for purchase overseas via iTunes?

For instance, I checked my country's iTunes entry for Kalafina here and found the following available:
  • All Kalafina albums, including the BEST ones
  • Singles only include fairytale, Lacrimosa, and believe
I then did a quick check on other random countries and observed the following:
  1. Most Asian countries share the same list as the one above
  2. Most EU countries have only the first three albums of Kalafina
  3. After Eden was skipped for US, with Consolation being the latest album available.
  4. Notable countries without Kalafina on iTunes include Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Pakistan.
Don't you think we should make a page on the site similar to the one for Aoi Eir here:
http://www.aoieir.com/intl-url/

I need someone to verify my findings too. xD

UK has SH/RM/AE and a bunch of random cover songs, that's it.

US is correct, except Magia & Kagayaku are on it as well. Unfortunately nothing past Consolation is on it.

I also looked up other Kajiura/Kajiura-related works as well (for US iTunes). FictionJunction is not listed, but some FJY singles are, being Silly go round, romanesque, and Hitomi no Kakera. None of her solo works are listed. Both FICTION I and II are listed. Kaori Oda's solo works are listed as well.

^ Fiction II is only partial, though. It's missing track 9 (everytime you kissed me).

Didn't know Kaori's works are on the US iTunes store. Thanks!

^Yeah, Calling is missing for me as well. It's also dissapointing that other songs are missing, along with that. I wonder whether it has to do with the record company or producers. I know Sony Japan is really stubborn when it comes to international releases, and I'm a little surprised that Kalafina got some albums on the US store.

Aww, I didn't realize "Calling" was missing when I checked. I was just happy that Kaori has some stuff on the U.S. iTunes store. :XD:

Well in the thread this was originally mentioned in, all of the Kalafina digital releases here coincided with their trips to the U.S. I can't confirm exact dates they were released on iTunes, but it makes sense. Seventh Heaven was put up shortly before Anime Boston 2009, Red Moon (along with the Magia and Kagayaku singles) before Anime Expo 2011, and Consolation before ACen in 2013.

I'm not sure about other artists under SME, though. I know Aoir Eir has quite a few albums/singles on iTunes here, but she also recently visited Atlanta, right? LiSA and Haruna Luna have some of their works too, but I don't remember if they visited the U.S. or not.

Kalafina's music is not available for purchase in Colombia's iTunes, in case this information is useful at all haha

^ Kinda noticed that most of Latin America do not have Kalafina material on iTunes. Seriously SME...

Anyways, I have created a custom URL for users to have them redirected to their country's iTunes page for Kalafina. Hope it gets helpful especially for those who want to purchase their tracks.

Since I only started it just now I believe I might have missed some countries. Please let me know so that I can fix it up. Thanks!

Next step is to create similar links for Kaori and Yuki Kajiura too, but I hope that someone else does it too and share it here. :XD:

In Finland, we have the first three albums from Kalafina available, that's where I bought them from (I've been thinking about buying the actual CDs though, just to collect them - it just bugs me that the bitrate is lower with CDs than with songs bought from iTunes). Fiction I and II are available fully, no tracks are missing. Funny :o

There is another way to legally listen to Kalafina's music.

Spotify. All 5 studio albums, the 2 BEST albums and some singles are available on Spotify completely free, with ads in between. You could always pay for Spotify Premium and have no ads (or just use AdBlock like I do :ohoho:). I discovered it while going through the Spotify App on my PS4 which I use to play Kalafina's music in the background. ;)

^All of Kalafina's music is on Spotify? :fwa:

When I checked, only Seventh Heaven was on there... Granted, I haven't checked in a LONG time.

@Kirito I can't find them on Spotify! There's nothing else than some kind of cover of To the Beginning and a playlist named "Kalafina" which is completely empty... could there be region restrictions or something?

That's weird. It's here for me

@Kirito I searched for them on my Spotify application but nothing showed up. I googled "Kalafina Spotify" and found their Spotify page, but there's no songs and the "play" button is greyed out. So I guess no Kalafina in my country then... well, at least now I don't have to regret buying their albums on iTunes.

Is Spotify like Pandora? I'm not really familiar with it and it seems you need an account to check for artists, so I cannot say if Kalafina is on Spotify here.

I'm not sure what Pandora is like, but on Spotify premium you only pay a small amount every month and get to listen to a huge selection of music. You can search for music wherever you are and listen to it legally free of charge, it's great. You can create playlists and share them with other people and follow others' playlists. You can also download your playlists and listen to them when you're offline. If you don't have Spotify premium, you still get to listen to all that music but you have to listen to commercials, too, and can't listen to your playlists when you're offline (at least this was the policy when I didn't have a premium account). I used to listen pretty much all of my music on Spotify, but nowadays I rarely use it as I'm more into Japanese music and hardly any Japanese stuff is available on Spotify in Finland. The music selection depends on where you live.
