Kalafina Lives in China!!

sometimes emotions can override everything else.

all, including the post by me above my own opinion of course.

Could be other reasons.

What I know is, Guangzhou was one of the place with the more violent protests, and it could be hard to die down. so yeah, I agree with the ive being cancelled. Wouldn't want a full scale mini war to break out in the auditorium during Kalafina's live.

Seeing the protests in China looked really scary so I'm glad the girls are not doing it. It's a shame of the Kalafina fans though

On Sky news they were saying that it's a combination of China's slowing economy and the earlier deportation of the chinese activists off the islands that is causing this. The Chinese government has police forces around the Japanese embassy but they're not stopping the protests. Anyway I thought that they were going to take this issue to an International Commitee??? And yes

While the Japan of today is loving and caring, unfortunately it was different in WII to an extent that the memories of that pain and damage will take a very long time to heal. One of my great uncles was kept in a Japanese concentration camp during the War and never came back as the same person. So yes the people of today shouldn't be blamed for what older generations did but I guess it's that pain and suffering that is too much to forget and for a lot of people they still resent the causes of those injustices. OF course that isn't to say that China is innocent, a lot of ppl are saying that by the government not stopping the protests it's part of the imperalist rule, so there are two sides to the coin

And surprising enough since their GDP's compliment each other , neither China or Japan will really lose out economically but of course it would be better if they could still work together!

Anyway ( HUGE DIGRESSION LOL! soz I love this topics- human geographer through and though ) I hope the protests calm down and all will be well soon :dote:

Boblove out ^_^v

I like how this thread is gradually turning into a discussion on politics. Anyhoo, shame that the live is cancelled, but definitely safer for the Japanese artists to pull out of China for now.

Re:

Admiration for Kalafina's Chinese Fans.

Prior to the live being cancelled, there were alrdy a lot of threads begging not to let Kalafina go to China because of the situation, and then there were some who said they would arm themselves if the live went normally and fight anyone who dared to come to wreck the place/harm the girls.[/quote]

+1

I agree with you!!

Well. Japan has political issues with 3(!) neighbouring countries about the lands that it claims to be its own. With China, Russia and South Korea. So I do understand the reason of the protests. Though I feel sorry for the chinese fans I think it's good they cancelled the live. Definitely not the best time to visit China now, if you're a Japanese citizen.

Geez, I think they just move on, it's been ages after WWII and as people here said already, Japan is a different country now. China seems to have a problem with it's area of responsibility. They're so hyped about "Japan buying an island around China" but they also claim island which are hundred of miles away from them. They should not blame Japanese citizens for such misfortune and solve the issue on diplomatic way.

The anti-Japanese sentiment still lives on very strongly in China and South Korea. Japan is partially to be blamed as they did not own up the mistakes they made during WW II like what Germany did and they had a shrine dedicated to their fallen soldiers so China and South Korea will always have tons of "excuses" to use against it. The past leaders of China and Japan left this Senkaku/DiaoYu island matter unresolved. They probably knew that it was never going to be resolved by peaceful means so Deng Xiaoping suggested to put it aside and let the future leaders to decide.

Back on topic, I hope Kalafina can come to Singapore instead of China. They are much safer here. :ohoho:

Hopefully... :nosebleed: :nosebleed:

AFA is NOT enough... and I missed it last year...really want them to be back this year... :wai: :wai:

I agree to cancelling Kalafina's concert in China. Many artists who decided to perform in these countries have mostly cancelled their plans.

It saddens me. US vs. Muslims. China vs. Japan.

^ Time for Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru to be heard now... A good choice for Kalafina to sing in these difficult moments. :hero:

I love that song and its B side:

I missed it last year too because of my business trip (note: I nearly strangled my boss :ohoho: ). Gave the ticket to my friend who wasn't an anime fan but she enjoyed our utahime's performance very much. :shy:

Don't worry it will be cancelled if they think its dangerous.

Imo they got jealous of the Muslims that protest outside American embassies.

I'm sorry - I know that political debate is an iffy subject but I had to respond to this. : p

The two separate protests are totally incomparable.

The Chinese are not protesting because they were bored one day, saw the Muslim protests on TV and decided they should join the party.

The history between China and Japan is hugely complicated and, personally, I don't think anyone here can really comprehend their relationship - including myself. It's easy for the onlooker to say they should "live and let live", but the atrocities which took place during the war (which really wasn't that long ago) can't simply be swept under the rug and forgotten about. Perhaps that's possible when you've had a fight with your best friend but not in the context of a war which resulted in the deaths of millions of Asians. Peoples lives were destroyed by these events and there are plenty of people alive today who will have been directly/indirectly affected by it.

Now, please tell me that the reasoning behind the Muslim outcry (A home-movie which was seen as excuse enough to burn down some embassies and kill people) is as significant as the conflict between China/Japan that the countries endured over the course of the war years.

Now, the methods that the Chinese people are using to protest (The targeting of Japanese people) are not right. Innocent people should not be getting caught in the firing line.

I am not comparing them, I was just joking a bit. I just said that the "protest in front of embassy" thing was similar :)

There's always Australia down here for them to visit! :sparkleguy: :sparkleguy: pleaaaassseeee :comeback:

^If Yuki Kajiura will do a live in Australia, then I'm definitely going there too :ohoho: Australia is a safe place for a live since their people are kind and compassionate, based from my experience from going there.

Anyway, if it's "hate" that we're talking about in this "debate", then people should make an effort in overcoming it and start forgiving and forgetting. It is hard and difficult, and it takes a lot of time. I know I'm too idealistic for saying it but that's the only way to maintain peace in two Nations. Violence is not the answer.

But from what I saw, the "effort" seems to be missing. :knife:
