for those disappointed, I advise not to lose hope. It might turn out to be not the song by Kalafina, but one of the songs by Kalafina. Remember, the first season had TWO ending themes. Lacrimosa was the second.

Not to sound mean or anything but who lost hope? And what does the fact that Lacrimosa was the second ending theme have to do with the fact that there might be multiple songs in the second season that are performed by Kalafina?

The thing is, season 1 had TWO endings. Kalafina did the second one, and it wasn't announced before late into the broadcast. So what I mean is that a chance remains for the second ending of season 2 to be assigned to Kalafina, making their contribution to the season TWO songs instead of one.
ok, ok, I must be just daydreaming. But still...

ここで、まさかの梶浦さん登場！！
Kalafinaのライブでは出ないもんだと思っていたから、かなり驚きました。

新曲の情報は知っていたけど、redmoonのことで頭が一杯だったんで忘れてました。

しかも、梶浦さん本人がkbを！

これは嬉しすぎる…。

曲はかなりねっとりなバラードでした。
確かにこれじゃあ、主題歌には…って感じですものねｗｗｗ

There was piano in "Kizuato".
"Kimi ga hikari ni kaete yuku" as well. I don't consider it to be a ballad.
Along with "Toki no mukou maboroshi no sora" and "Parallel hearts". Did you not SEE her banging on that keyboard like no tomorrow in those PVs?!

What I am actually complaing about, is that she doesnt use it as main instrument in upbeat songs much (like she does with violin and e.guitar). I do know that she uses it in the background (for example if you use vocal remover of audacity in Yakusoku, you will hear lots of piano during the chorus and the e guitar solo, which sadly can be hardly heard if you listen to the song itself)

P.S: Yes, Kizuato does have paino (especially the piano2 ver).
