Before we start, I must be getting old because... I messed up the timing and was an hour late to today's show 「ヘッドホンおじさん CX」. If anyone has it... *nudgenudgewinkwink*
Kalafina has been all over the place doing promotion for FOTW. And that of course means lots of delicious info. It will be a great mix of Kalafina info and info about their personal lives. My apologies if I miss some juicy information somewhere.

When asked about whether they each take a particular role in the group, Keiko says that since Hikaru and Wakana tend to have too much freedom during MCs. Keiko holds their hands up on each side, at which point Hikaru cheekily looks at the camera and gives a peace/V sign with her raised hand. This prompts Keiko to tell her in a reprimanding voice, as if she were a teacher telling a student to stop monkeying around and reflect on their wrongdoings, to not do a peace sign. They laugh and Keiko goes on to explain that the two of them really do go at their own pace and once they set a direction, they go full speed ahead in their MC, talking about sharks, dinosaurs, museums and everything under the sun that is not related to Kalafina. Keiko takes it upon herself to reel them back in. Ironically, Wakana says that she is able to talk with such freedom only because she knows Keiko is there to stop her when necessary. Oh Keiko. Such an enabler. The MC then asks what kind of dinosaur Wakana likes and she answers with the velociraptor. The MCs don't know what it is so the three of them start explaining. You can tell that both Keiko and Hikaru know a lot about it too, probably because of Wakana.
On the topic of their dresses:
Hikaru says while based on the same concept, they usually have a bit of variation here and there, as requested by each of them. The MC then asks Hikaru what kind of request she had this time. Hikaru then slowly says.. This time... well she didn't really have any this time. The three of them burst out in laughter as the MCs jokingly ask why she brought it up then. Usually, the dresses are made according to the image of the song. The three of them will then feedback and ask for certain parts of the dresses to be changed. Hikaru thought it was perfect this time so nothing was changed. Hikaru then gives an example of the kind of requests she would make. Sleeveless, length of the skirt, etc. MC then asks Wakana if she had a particular preference. Wakana likes long skirts. Keiko, on the other hand, likes shorter skirts and there's a reason for that.
Keiko explains that she does the 仁王立ち (nioudachi) a lot during lives. What's nioudachi you say? It's when
one stands with their feet pretty wide apart (google image results link. some results may be nsfw? seems okay to me). The MCs are bemused, probably because it's a pretty manly way to stand. The MCs ask if she was protecting someone. Keiko giggles, kinda embarrassed, and says no initially but then puts her arms around the two of them and say ok well yeah, she's protecting them (Wakana joins in and says Keiko is protecting them) but that's not the reason. She's explains that she's in charge of the low harmonies and a lot of the time, she stands on stage in a masculine way. When she does the nioudachi, a long skirt would get in the way so she usually asks for her skirts to be shorter. MC says that this is probably the first time he heard a lady say that a long skirt gets in the way of nioudachi. They all comment that Keiko is manly/cool, etc as Keiko gets all embarrassed. Looking at the fotw MV and the posters, the MCs just cannot imagine Keiko doing the nioudachi.
On the topic of what sports/exercise they do...
Keiko -> Road bike, strength training, etc
Wakana -> Yoga
Hikaru -> None at all
But of course lol.
For their commemorative photo, they took an alternate with all of them doing the nioudachi lol
FM Northwave Magic Friday
The album took around a month to make. The three of them got to meet in the studio a lot more than usual this time, so they had a lot more time to talk to each other about the songs. Having sung with each other for so long, Keiko says that they can sort of guess how the other will go about singing the song. This makes the recording go a lot smoother.
Hokage was recorded with both Wakana and Sakurada in the booth together. During the twitter event, Kajiura commented that it's because the song is so slow, it would have been hard for Sakurada to do the piano separately on his own. Wakana said it felt like she was singing it at a live as she recorded.
Hikaru says that into the water is a good song for leading listeners into the world of Kalafina.
Keiko comments on monochrome. She says that the final song was very different from what she initially expected while she was recording, as more and more rhythmic instruments got added in. It left an impression on her. Despite being called monochrome, the song was very lively and flashy.
(There was also a very cute Hikaru moment when she realises that she made a mistake as she started introducing the album's title song when she meant to introduce One Light)

How/When do you get into work mode?
Keiko gets into work mode when she gets her makeup done, etc. They rotate and take turns going first. Apparently during the campaign period, all three of them did the makeup and hair, etc on their own. The two MCs are shocked, since Wakana had a rather complex hair done up.
Wakana gets into work mode when she listens to the songs and reads the scores, etc before the lives. Once she gets in, her body reacts naturally. For example, if she hears one of them humming a song, she'll join in and harmonise.
Hikaru... because she is usually at home alone, meeting anyone is sort of a big event. She gets into work mode the moment she meets the other two.
What are you currently interested in?
Keiko is still doing her training. MC remarks on how amazing, as usual, Keiko is in taking care of her body. He recalls that the last time she came on, she talked about road biking. Apparently she has a personal trainer. If there's a certain day where she sang too much, she'll have the appropriate exercise to get her body back into shape (she says that exercising takes the fatigue from work off), depending on the situation.
Wakana was talking about something that happens only twice a year in Egypt? She would like to see it live one day. She's currently also interested in Tarot cards.
Hikaru says she really enjoyed the grape daifuku that Wakana bought for the two of them as a souvenir from Fukuoka (Wakana's hometown and where they are right now) so she really hopes to be able to get some this time too. Keiko chimes in saying that it was really delicious.
Keiko says that like a certain lyrics in the album's title song, their hope is that their music will continue from now on too. I think Keiko said it's also part of the reason why they chose it as the title song. Both Kajiura and the girls have expressed their desire to continue with their music.
KBC Radio PAO~N
Been a year since they guested on this show. There are 3 MCs here and one of them, Matsumura-san, had his interview featured in the Kadokawa Kalafina bessatsu book. He's the one who really likes the historia songs.
The MCs start with asking what "far on the water" means. Keiko then explains that it's about the water that continues/flows on and on, wherever (doko made mo. Sorry. I kinda lazed on finding the exact right way to translate this part). This ties in to the comment in SWITCH.
The girls sang the first part from FOTW
live on SWITCH (live show). We get a nice long solo from Keiko.
They talk about overseas lives. About how they really just speak in Japanese in HongKong during MCs since the audience will actually understand them better. I'm biased since I know Japanese but I do think that it works better than very bad attempts at the local language which will just end with the audience largely confused. It seems that quite a number of fans do know Japanese as well and will tell them that it's okay if they do speak in Japanese.
The lady MC asks them how they maintain their beauty and Keiko responds with a "desperately" to which they all laugh.
Keiko mentions that since it is a hall this time, instead of the live house, the setlist will likely have more quiet songs for listening as they sit down, songs that are more atmospheric. This is as opposed to live house, which will have more energetic songs. So there we go. The setlist changes depending on the location. Is this why we will never see Mata kaze ga anymore... except at the FC live? Live houses are generally smaller and Kalafina seems to be moving on the halls which will seat more people. <-Just speculation. Of course, there is always a chance we will see those old songs again somewhere.
FM Fukuoka Super Radio Monster
Last time they guested was... for the best album. MCs commented on the gap between their songs and their actual personality lol. They congratulate them on the success of the Budokan lives. They also comment on how sexy Keiko's voice is, listening through the headphones.
MC asks if Wakana got to watch Jurassic World. Wakana says yes. She even cried as she watched it. Apparently she started crying the moment the theme song came on.
At this show, there is a gacha machine which contains questions for them. Wakana turns the gacha while Keiko cheers her on in the back "Wa-chan go go!" Wakana couldn't figure out where the gacha comes out from so Keiko teases her for it. Wakana doesn't do gacha a lot.
The question they got was "What is your wish?"
Keiko wishes that there were more hours in a day. Like maybe 30 hours? Just so long as there is a little more time. The MC asks her what she would do with more time and Keiko answers with ... training lol. The MCs laugh and comment that listening to the conversation, Keiko sounds rather macho. The harder she tries to get away from being called Macho-senpai... lol.
Hikaru wishes that people who haven't been to Toyama (her hometown), to take the opportunity to visit Toyama if they drop by the area for Kalafina's tour this time. They ask the small crowd outside the studio whether they've been to Toyama and a total of 2 people raise their hands. Hikaru then says "like so, not a lot of people have been to Toyama." She really wishes that people learn of what's amazing about Toyama. She says that the air and water there is delicious so the rice they make is delicious too.
Wakana hopes to be able to do a nationwide tour where they can visit everywhere in Japan. They've had the oppotunity to hold a concert in Taiwan and Hong Kong this time but she wishes to be able to do the whole of Japan as well.
There is usually a concept for the album but for fotw, it's more like taking a bit of everything from all the songs so far. Kalafina's pop, a bit of rock, classical, etc. So there's a variety of songs in the album. MC comments that it's a bit of the old + a new feel for Kalafina. Wakana thinks there's a wide range of genres too. She hopes that there will be something for everyone. Hikaru says that they paid special attention to each word this time. There's a bit more use of words from everyday life, words that would resonate with listeners. She hopes that everyone will pay attention to the lyrics. MC seems to like monochrome.
The tour this time... They are rehearsing/preparing now. Keiko says that they view live as completely different from the recording so they sort of re-do the songs from the ground up.

Break time. This seems like a rather nice place to break the post too, since it is getting rather long. If I continue now, the quality is probably just going to get worse. I'm off to play a bit of mindless twin shooter games.
