I'm from Hong Kong, aged >20, but my native language is English. I started watching anime about 4 to 5 years ago and one of the first series was Pandora Hearts. That was the first time a soundtrack (and theme song) had stood out so much for me that I looked the composer up, and there we have, lo and behold, my first encounter with Kajiura Yuki's music. :sohappy:

Um...I watched Madoka Magica and then Fate/Zero, and got rather attached to their OSTs as well. However, I think it was only when I watched Noir last year that I had a real fit of Kajiura Yuki fan-ness, i.e.: looking up other series she composed for and watching them for the music, watching lives (FictionJunction, Kalafina) on YouTube, etc.

I have the TTB and After Eden CDs as well as the entire Fate/Zero OST, and occasionally worry about them being broken from playing them continuously for so long.

My favourite vocalist would probably be Wakana~ :shy:

Hi mashimomenu, and welcome to canter-per-me.net or cpm!

Did you get to see Kalafina (or for that matter Chiaki Ishikawa) when they came to Hong Kong?

I really like Indio from Noir, and have also liked the music on .hack//SIGN (both FictionJunction and See-Saw).

Please feel free to ask any questions about Yuki Kajiura's music!

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of their lives yet...I've only gone to 2 conventions (Ani-Com 2011, 2012), and missed Kalafina's performance by 1 year :blood: I didn't know about Ishikawa Chiaki nor Yuuka Nanri coming here either...I'm trying to keep better tabs on performances in HK now, but even though I know Yuuka Nanri will have a live in February, my parents probably won't let me go

I might be able to go to the Osaka Consolation live in August, though...I sure hope so... :innocent:

I liked Indio too :dote: Also Canta Per Me, Salva Nos, Corsican Corridor, Gensou Rakuen, Romance and In Memory of You.

^ I managed to get to a few shows in Japan (and missed some even though I was in Japan too). If you can get along to some live shows there it is well worth it!

If you really want to get to a Yuki Kajiura or Kalafina concert in Japan, it is worth getting someone in Japan to get you membership in FictionJunction Club and get advance notice and bidding for tickets. I paid my travel agent to do so, but if you know anyone over there they might be able to do the same for you.

I don't really know anyone in Japan, and I'm not so sure about getting the membership as I can probably only go in the space of this year and the next (I'm still in secondary school, and probably won't be able to go while studying in university) . So would it still be worth it?
Also, how are tickets for their concerts actually acquired? I saw that there was a lottery for them for one of the concerts, but didn't know whether this was applied across the board.
Sorry for all these questions...orz I'm just a bit worried.

It is worth the FictionJunction Club membership for the earlier access to bidding for tickets (for public events) and some member-only events and merchandise (like the Sing a Song CD single).

You could try contacting the travel agent I used there, http://www.idtours.co.jp - they have been very good at getting me tickets.

We have the same experience! I got to appreciate Yuki's music because of Pandora Hearts as well. I have been following the story in manga now, and I'm still hoping that there will be an anime remake of Pandora Hearts with Yuki doing the music again. I'm still listening to some of its tracks today, especially Parallel Hearts.

Anyway, welcome to CPM! Hope you enjoy your time here. :sparkleguy:

@Kugayama: Thanks for the info! It was helpful. I'll think about it.

I'm also still reading Pandora Hearts: I started because I felt the anime ending was not conclusive enough. So, in a way, it served as a very good 'gateway' for me. :XD:

^ a remake is much better, since the animation series ended very distinctively that it cannot be continued with what has progressed in the manga. Aside from an extended story, I also hope for better graphics for the anime. Of course I want Yuki to do the music again.

^ If its a remake of the first season and they hire her again they will most likely use the same soundtrack she had composed with possibly a small number of new music. (like what happened in the Madoka movies that recap the anime + new scenes).

btw I replied to your pm.

No problem! By the way, one of my friends is staying in Cheung Chau right now.
