My International Deluxe Edition of Eve no Jikan (from Kickstarter) arrived today and it contained an official translation of I Have A Dream. :sohappy:

It's actually good! :goodjob:
The only thing I could perhaps say is:
"I have a dream
but it's so modest
that I really don't think I can tell you what it is"

Just different wording that's closer to the original text though. The meaning doesn't change. Beautiful translation overall, these people definitely knew what they were doing!

Yes, it's official, it's good, I don't see a reason not to replace the existing one! Just be careful, this is the movie version and it's shortened, you need to keep parts of the existing translation at the appropriate parts.

the combined translation...

Sitting on a park bench, laughing and smiling
that summer morning,
the fields of grass sparkled fresh and green

Though in truth, I can’t see your eyes
What color are they?
I find myself yearning for the skies you see

I have a dream
but it’s so modest
that I really don’t think I can tell you what it is

The morning comes, I rub my eyes
I go walking among the crowds
Throughout all of these recurring days
I go on searching for that small dream

Surely my heart is really nowhere
Even so,
there is something we are making

The night train’s window
reflects my face
I believe
that when I wake up I’ll be in a city of light

I have a dream
even in sleepless nights
even after I have abandoned my heart’s wishes
so many times

Spring comes, the wind blows
We are walking
holding a little dream
for the unchanging days

(soltei martiya

Time moves on, and so do we
pass each other by, then meet again
I reflect upon these frozen winter days
The morning comes, the wind blows
I go walking among the crowds
For your sake, as well as mine
the world goes on weaving our dreams
