Huntrixx Golden live analysis

Oh you mean, Fil from Wings of Pegasus.

I watched quite a few of his videos in the past doing voice analysis to reveal the difference between live vocals and pitch-corrected vocals.

I think I first began to be a bit in disagreement with him when he did a couple of videos about Voctave, specifically their "Disney Princess Medley", complaining about them having lots of vocal production on the MV, and because the video had them standing around mics as if they were singing, he was saying they were giving a false impression that they were recorded for the MV singing the final take. He was previously showing

My issue with him was that it was a music video, just set in that space. Their vocals were previously recorded and they were only acting to the vocal for the video. He insisted on taking a true live performance they did on a stage and comparing the two, which was annoying to me, since they're two different things.

My comment on that video was that the same thing happens with electric guitars in rock music where all sorts of effects and amps are used to alter and modify the playing of the guitarist to create different effects and shape the music differently. If I were to use the same argument he was using for Voctave (who do sing very beautifully live), then only acoustic/classical guitars are true guitarists since they only rely on acoustic properties to project their music (and no production, just amplifications) just like live vocalists using mics.

It is not so focused on vocal techniques, but rather of voices edits and enhancements of the performance. I have watched some videos of this Youtuber for a while though not sure I always agree but it is still intereting to watch. Thought especially @CloisteredFlame might enjoy it

Though he was quite right about the heavily tuned vocal of Ejae's performance, the thing is, the music is from a fictional KPop band, and we know the strong pitch correction/autotune is a integral part of KPop vocal production in the real industry.

You can't do an acoustic, unproduced KPop performance, especially not for those main songs like "Golden". It will be more like a cover than a performance of the original.
