Hmm I always suck at introductions xD, but I'm gonna try anyway. :sohappy:

So I'm Solveig, a 26 year old art student from France/Germany/wherever you want, and the two most important things in my life are music and art. I love drawing. I do suck at it though. xD I also love music, and I can't even imagine life without it. I like various genres actually; mostly folk, classical, medieval/celtic music and symphonic rock/metal. I discovered Japanese music in the 90s with artists like *blushes* Megumi, Masami Okui, Two-Mix, then Ayu, just to name a few... now I can't listen to them anymore because my taste evolved to, let's say, "music with emotions"... something I can feel the beauty of. (yes, put in that way it sounds kinda weird. xD)

I've been using the site for some months now (especially for lyrics) but I'm registering to the forum only now. Maybe some of you know me from my Last.fm account(s) (shadesdrawn/rugiadanotturna)?

I love Kalafina, FictionJunction Yuuka, and See-Saw but unfortunately I'm still quite new to Yuki soundtracks (I said quite, I have already heard some tracks of hers of course and I liked them, but what I mean is that I really want to know more about her and will definitely listen to more stuff :D). That's probably because I am actually much more into manga than anime, even if I do like anime -I just don't download a lot, and I can afford manga, it's not that easy for anime because DVDs here are quite expensive. >_< I used to download some animes for a while, but I still didn't have the time to watch all of them. :XD:

Apart from Yuki & Kalafina I must say I'm a huge Akiko Shikata worshipper. Her music is just wonderful. Also a Luca Turilli worshipper, my other favorite composer, because his works are so eclectic and filled with magical atmosphere, be it with Rhapsody or for his various solo releases. Sound Horizon is amazing and one of a kind. I love the Ar Tonelico soundtrack as well; these songs are the most epic ever! I could write pages about music, but I don't want to be boring... xD so if you want to know more about my music taste you can always look at my Last.fm profiles anyway :ohoho:

Oh and I want to say the smileys on this forum are awesome. :knife:

Welcome to the forums!

I hope you enjoy it here. Always good to have another Yuki lover on board.

I might as well ask since if I don't someone else will. Girl or boy?

Thanks to both of you! :3

Well I don't think Solveig is a boy's name, too... At least it would sound weird to me xD

Well, I am not good with names outside of my nationality.

I wouldn't know... sorry about that.

Welcome Solveig! Interesting name, never heard of it before, but then that's also because I'm not good with non-English or Chinese names.

I love the smileys too :nosebleed:

Thank you silverywhite ^_^

I must remember that then xD Solveig is pretty common in Germany and Scandinavia. But if you want you can call me Sol :XD:

Welcome to the forums, Solveig. I do hope you are liking it so far!
By any chance have you heard of Apocalyptica? They are also a symphonic, gothic/dark group of cellist, they're freakin' awesome. Also Kanon Wakeshima is a great Cellist. Je je, nice to meet you!

Enjoy!

Thanks, Jessica ;D

Unfortunately I only know Apocalyptica by name, I really need to check their music. I've heard only good things about this band and I'm pretty sure I will like them.

It's a matter of importance to Xam-Xam, a matter that can't be verified too often. :XD:

Well I don't think Solveig is a boy's name, too... At least it would sound weird to me

Until right now, I used to think Solveig was a boy's name :omg: Talk about crosscultural myth-interpretations. :XD:
Anyway, you are heartily welcomed to this forum. :sohappy:

I like various genres actually; mostly folk, classical, medieval/celtic music and symphonic rock/metal.

Then you definitely should try Mike Oldfield, his music embraces all of these and even more. :shy: :shy: :shy: Even Yuki named him among her favourite composers.
Do you like any German bands? The very first band I liked was from Germany :sparkleguy: Though they specialised in disco, not folk. :XD:

Hi Solveig. And we can't call you Sol because there is "Sol" already here :XD:

nice to meet you solveig XD

:hi: solveig! welcome to the forum! :sohappy:
