I'm a longtime fan of Yuki Kajiura's songs. I fell in love with See-Saw's Annani issho datta no ni immediately after hearing it in Gundam Seed, and subsequently Kimi wa boku ni niteiru in Gundam Seed Destiny. They remain as two of my favorite songs to this day. :)

Youtube wasn't very established then, but a few years later, as I was entranced by Chiaki Ishikawa's Prototype in Gundam 00, I began to do some research on the net, which led me to establish the link between See-Saw, Ishikawa and Kajiura. That was around 2008, if I remember correctly.

I really liked the trance-like quality of See-Saw's and Ishikawa's songs (most songs on my playlist bear this trait, it's called Ethereal Wave if I'm not mistaken), so I snooped around to see whether I could find any other songs by Ishikawa, See-Saw and Kajiura. I couldn't find much on Kajiura except for music (I prefer songs), little for Ishikawa too (Uninstall was EPIC though), and See-Saw's other songs didn't really resonate much with me either.

I was unknowingly reintroduced to Kajiuran music in early 2011, in the Madoka anime. I remembered that the only reason I continued watching past the first episode was the epicness of Magia playing in the first scene. :) I noted the name "Kalafina" as I downloaded the song online, but it didn't occur to me to do a bit more research on them at that time. Even though Magia became my favorite song for awhile. :)

A few months later came Sacred Seven (yeah I'm an avid anime fan), whose OP and ED I also kinda liked. I stumbled across the Stone Cold MV one day whilst searching for downloads, and suffice to say, the FictionJunction ladies left an impression. :P

So I did some research, learnt their names, went to their website, and guess what, Kalafina and Yuki Kajiura's names popped up! Well, that's when I realized I was a Kajiura fan. Not a See-Saw fan, not an Ishikawa fan, not a Kalafina fan, but a fan of Kajiura's brand of songs.

That's when I really started to look up FJ and Kalafina songs on youtube, and I've grown really attached to Kalafina. Oblivious and the other Kalafina songs have now eclipsed the Gundam Seed EDs as my favorite songs.

Anyway, that's how I ended up here. I've been a lurker for quite awhile, and just decided to register on a whim. :)

Welcome to cpm Glare〜 :sohappy:
Magia is such an amazing song :shy: you should listen to the OST too; it's amazing :dote:
enjoy your stay〜

@aki: Yeah I do. I've downloaded nearly every Kalafina song. :)

@ZoaKaiser: I'm Asian. That's all I'm gonna say. :)

Welcome Glare, and while I might be more of a fan of FictionJunction, See-Saw and Chiaki Ishikawa than Kalafina, it's good to appreciate all of their music.

I hope that you enjoy your time on the forum and join in chat at http://chat.canta-per-me.net sometime, and can get to see some of Yuki Kajiura's music performed live soon.

I can read Japanese (barely), but translating is out of the question for me. :uh..:

Welcome to cpm! :sohappy: Who's your favourite vocalist?
.... Does Maya count? >_>

I prefer the Kalafina girls over the FJ ones, but if I had to choose... Hm that's hard. Wakana I guess. :)

^...yeah, why not :XD: I guess she counts as a former vocalist  It's a shame she left, I really liked her voice too :comeback: I have a sneaking suspicion that if she'd stayed on she would have been my 2nd favourite.

/hi-fives for Wakana :stars: :shy: :dote:

Good for you to be here! :psst:

I personally like "Anna ni" a lot too! :XD:

(Esp. the various cover versions....) :psst: :nosebleed:
