Hi there,

I've been a long time follower of this forum and a Kajiura fan (obviously).
I came across Kajiura's music through the NOIR OST, although I didn't know who the composer was at the time, and was quite taken with Canta per me (hehe, forum name). A few years later, I ran across Kalafina's Hikari no Senritsu and was surprised that they were harmonizing. Well, that and Keiko's alto voice had me thinking that she was a man at first. Anyways, the point of this long winded intro is that Yuki Kajiura's style of music is unique and different from other mainstream music that I totally love it!
Wow...this is long....

To sum things up, I am a newbie and it is my pleasure to make your acquaintances. :D

Welcome to CPM!!! Nice to meet you *________________* Hikari no Senritsu is really a beautiful ballad <33

Welcome! I got into Yuki's music in the same way that you did then...I love the Noir OST too.

I love Keiko's voice as well...it never ceases to amaze me how someone who looks so petite and delicate can project such a powerful and resonant voice...it's a wonder of nature, I swear! :stars:

Welcome Kith289, are you currently learning Japanese, been to Japan and/or plan to visit again, play a musical instrument and/or sing? Any other favourite composers, Japanese/anime or otherwise?

Welcome Kith~

I love Keiko's voice as well, and her face too :XD: , no point in denying it. Have fun here :)

Welcome! I also came to Yuki's music through Noir, I think anyways. It might have been .Hack. heh But I hope you like it here, I am known as Lina. I am also learning Japanese, slowly but surely. Nice to meet you! :dote:

I suck at languages, I barely survived Spanish in high school so no way will be able to learn Japanese with all those character :uh..:
One of these days, I will visit Japan, somehow. I limit my interactions with music to just listening, my singing ability is nonexistent and I have never touched a musical instrument...never?...yeah never. :ohoho:

Favorite band/composers besides Kajiura: Nightwish, Within Temptation, E.S. Posthumus (before they disbanded), Yoko Kanno, Hans Zimmer, and some others that I can't think up right now. :D

Oh yeah, I'm from California, US. I'm currently in Davis enjoying the college life (major sarcasm here).

^Ooo another within tempation fan. I also love Hans Zimmer and Yoko. I am from the US as well, but the northern part in Wisconsin. I have family that lives near California though.

You don't like your college? :uh..: I've heard UC in Davis is a great place for education

Hmmm.....I **think** we have another UC Davis student here....happen to know each other? :ayashii:

No, I like Davis. It's just that I'm trying to add into a class I need for my major and it's been stressful. And is there another UC Davis student in this forum? Interesting. :ayashii:

Oh seems like you don't....or I might have remembered wrong (I do visit a few other forums too, you know?).

No issues then! :innocent:

Thanks, hiragana and katakana take most of the guess-work out of pronunciation and spelling. Kanji, that's another 2200-odd characters. I've never tried to learn another language before, sometimes the motivation is there. Never been a good musician, but appreciate good music.

Many of us like the music of Yoko Kanno and Joe Hisaishi (composer of most music for Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli animations and many other movies besides), and closer to Yuki Kajiura, the music of her partner in the band See-Saw, Chiaki Ishikawa.

Japan is the only place I've been to outside Australia, and I have an aunt that lives in Mill Valley, California, USA.

Enjoy your time on Canta-Per-Me.net, and hopefully you can get to see some of Yuki Kajiura's music and musicians perform live some day.

Hello there! Hope you enjoy your stay here!
Funny, I've never mistook Keiko's voice for a man and used to think that people were joking about it resembling a man's voice, but you're the second person that says this, so her voice must really be that tricky XD
