Greetings

I understand. The autograph areas and panel rooms at ACEN were hard enough to find without a language barrier--even the staff seemed confused! My only advice is to 1) scout the area beforehand 2) don't be afraid to pepper people with questions.

Once again, thank you for the kind greetings, everyone!

@george
Maybe you can save up some money for whenever they return to Europe (I have a feeling they will--they seemed to love Bonn)? Even if you have difficulties with the language, I'm sure lots of Germans know English. Plus, if others on this forum (*cough* Kugayama) can make it all the way to Japan, I'm sure you'll be able to survive in Germany.

(Despite saying this, I understand it'll be difficult. I'm trying to imagine what I'd do if Kalafina went to Mexico, and I just can't see myself going that far)

Japan was 9 hours by plane between Sydney and Tokyo, and 2 hours by plane between Adelaide and Sydney (both Qantas) *and minimal timezone difference*. I suppose that only having Japanese and English to deal with and not starting with a different language helped a lot.

I'm sure if one prepares, travelling to a different country to see Kalafina / Yuki Kajiura is doable, but I'm not sure how I'd go attending Anime Fest Asia.

Well, my Japanese is pretty crappy (I didn't even dare to talk to Kalafina in Japanese at ACEN, fearing I'd say something rude by accident; thankfully, they seemed to understand my simple English phrases). So I guess, if I consider it like that, I can understand George's trepidation about Germany.

Maybe Kalafina will plan a European tour in the future? That way, they'd cover more countries, leading to more opportunities for under served areas. They could at least visit one of the southern European countries, though I'm not sure if Italy is any better than Germany in terms of language barrier.

May your words gild! :bow:

@George: I feel you, really hope for them to come again soon and somewhere close. I wasn't in there last time too.

Welcome to CPM, Coral! :sohappy: Your review of Acen was a real joy to read, thank you for posting it! I'm glad you had a good time and here's hoping you'll be able to see Kalafina again some time in the future! :goodjob: I've promised myself I'll make it some day to one of their lives...someday... :TdT: :XD:

P.S. Good to see another Wakafan around~ (though of course I still love all of them) :plot: :chuu:

George, Cerise:
Hope they come near you guys soon! It could happen--until they were announced for ACEN, I thought I wouldn't have a chance of seeing them. Even with the ACEN announcement, I wasn't sure I'd go because of time and budget; Chicago's still a sizable distance from here. Then I listened to all my favourite tracks, whacked myself for my hesitation, and told my bank account to fudge off. And I'm somehow, magically, not bankrupt yet, though I'd better think of something before Yuki's next release (praying for Vol.10...).
