I also think having that looks better than what she's doing in other videos (like the pre-save twitter one), which is looking to some side to read off a prompter (or whatever she's reading off of).

The transition from verse1 to refrain works a little better for me for some bizarre reason (considering it's not that different from the 2nd transition... idk...), but I still think YK should've worked LL's voice into the song earlier so it's not as sudden with the refrain. I don't mean a prechorus, just any kind of vocalization during the verse... but that's me. I think for now EMIKO in the 2nd verse is my favorite part - it feels so free.

I don't understand why so many people were shitting on the song before, lol. Is it my new most favorite ever? No but it's no shit.

Patiently hoping for the full single to have instrumentals for both, if not more songs.

Very RyBish, but I like it. Gotta admit, I luv the bridge, specially when Yuriko takes the lead. The melody is super simple, but I like how inspiring it sounds. Would've been nice to have Joelle and Kaori join in this part, just to have all 5 singers, but I guess I'll have to wait for the live in November hue.

About Kanata: I really liked the bridge it had a different structure than usual. The main vocal joined the chorus melody after a while and this was kinda unique. The rest of the song is sadly pretty autopilot and forgetable. Emiko had a less deep voice than in black rose here.

The MV visuals remind of of Windows Media Player visualisation function (2000s) that would make random visuals based on the type of music you were listening to. Ι d say its the most basic and cheapest an MV could get.

I can't tell for the recording of the last show in Tokyo but in Osaka Kaori and Joelle didn't sing it at all (and weren't on the stage if I remembered correctly).
 
It's a pleasant song though not ground-breaking. It's just meant to continue the flow of the uplifting but slightly moody (the minor chord changes) parade of melodies from some of the OG songs.

Emiko was the perfect voice to carry the verses. She's firm and has feeling without being dramatic. Her movement up her range for the higher parts of the verse sounded smooth. She doesn't struggle on the "itanimo" near the end of the verse.

Her voice gave the stability that allowed LINO LEAI's higher pitched chorus to be a pleasant contrast. It's also cool that she doubles with LINO for the 2-part harmony feel on the chorus, and the harmony handoff to Yuriko near the end then switching back to Emiko was cool too.

There's a lower harmony part to Emiko's verse 2 lead near the end - how was that handled in the live if Kaori or Joelle wasn't there?

The bridge was the highlight starting with Yuriko and I guess LINO (should actually be Joelle doing lower soprano with her, imo) while Emiko sang some lead lines, and later we had the lovely 3 part harmony with Yuriko-LINO-Emiko.

Of course the vocals are sweetened/ED'd for that atmospheric/disembodied feel (especially on Yuriko's voice during the bridge) but I would imagine in the live performance that would be on playback for Yuriko behind her actual voice on stage, for that staple Kajiura "heavenly" feel.

It sure does. I can imagine her giving even more feeling to the lyrics when doing them live. Maybe a bit more dramatic than light/free.

Really? They sounded the same to me. Before listening, just based on your comment, I was thinking there was a change in the vocal arrangement. I see what I believe you mean about there not being any stabs of kajiurago-like vocalization behind Emiko's lead to bring in the other voice(s).

I agree that It is lovely, and I would reiterate that it's all because of Emiko's stability and because she's able to comfortably rise towards the higher range that LINO would come in on. If Emiko struggled it would harm the pickup from LINO.

I agree on Joelle just because of her blend with Yuriko on the soprano angel melodies up on top (both tonally and in terms of vibrato). I think Kaori's voice would change the feel of the tonal landscape a bit too much, especially if she's given a really expressive part.
 
I like this song a lot. It feels very Madoka, which is good. Lol I saw/heard Lino do some lower parts in the live at ACen, so I didn't realize the change either at first, until the verse. But now I can tell. I do love some light songs too. I am a little sad it's only the one new song for now, but I'm sure that will change soon.
