They will be streaming the "TV edition" of the recap movies in four batches on TVer.
There's also something about commentary being available from August 13... but I don't know if it's going to be new commentaries or the old ones... (The original TV series anniversary nico streams had Kajiura on the penultimate episode. The home video commentaries only had seiyuus, I think.) Could be something completely different too, I'm just guessing on automated translation... Oh, I think it's the commentary videos with Eiko Kano they had previously as the TV edition was airing... Completely forgot about those. Poo.

I can imagine what you mean by Kalafina song bridges being light, and some of those Kalafina songs were derivative of songs originally written for FictionJunction, e.g. "Mirai" as you mentioned against "Credens Justitiam".

I do agree that Kanata is a bit light compositionally. Maybe it would sound more impactful if it was redone in a acoustic arrangement with strong emotional vocal performances. 🤷‍♂️

Unless they have a proper q&a it really could just be them all saying "hi, we put our all into this movie, thank you for supporting Madoka Magica, hope you enjoy the movie" before the movie starts playing, lol.

Will it have
- just those announced two songs (Kanata + lighthouse); or maybe
- also instrumental(s); or maybe
- also another secret song for Walpurgisnacht Rising; or maybe
- also another original song unrelated to Madoka;
?

I obviously don't know what's going to happen but I'm definitely hoping for more than just those 2 songs.
"lighthouse" being the only extra on a full priced single (having already been released over a year prior to it) would be kind of lame. I'd definitely expect at least instrumental(s).

I also know Japan loves their secrets. The fact they were trying to tease and hype up the final Fena episode (which included a new song) after it had already streamed internationally almost 2 months before... very lul.

Going away from the Madoka single, I too was hoping for a new YUUKA song to debut during YKL22... maybe for Rayearth... but I don't know how it would work with TMS Music being the music producer on the project... :/ But maybe it does not matter? Would be amazing.

Orchard special here we come!
 
I saw some people speculating we're going to get a rehash of the original Madoka TV Walpurgisnacht fight (karmic destiny 'cause of Homura's meddling in Rebellion), but can you imagine the shitshow/eyebrowraising if "Magia" by FictionJunction was used in that familiar sequence instead of the og?

I'd love to hear it but I'm not sure YK's team is willing to test all kinds of fans with a non-Kalafina recording of "Magia" to be used in the movie... or would they be...

I guess a version that's just on the single (not used in the movie) could be less controversial...

But there's also this feeling that many people think "Kanata" sounds neither like an opening, nor ending song (and I think we'd expect a Kajiura ending normally for her movie OST)... so where does that leave us with the potential opening/ending? Extra surprise song(s)... be it more FJ or ClariS' return (though that would have to be separate from our FJ single, unless it's FJ feat. ClariS...)...

Orchard in 11 days. Movie in 16 days. Full single in 3 weeks...

It would be a delightful surprise. It’s not uncommon for other artists to do this. For instance, Ryokuoushoku Shakai covered "Sora ni Utaeba" (BNHA S2 OP), originally by amazarashi, on the single release of "Shout Baby" (BNHA S4 ED)...

And I don’t want to reignite the YK X Kalafina debate (and I love both), but YK is the composer, the mind and the soul behind the music she created. It is only fair for her to utilize (and even improve) what she herself brought into the world. The Kajiura era of Kalafina (and vice versa) deserves to be celebrated, and a cover of "Magia" by FJ in the new Madoka Magica movie would be the perfect opportunity for that.
