Honestly, I was expecting release date, new music, and confirmation on who's doing the OP and ED.
I only got 1 reeeeeeeee.

But I guess if they added back the dream sequence at the start, it would be an good version to watch.

Too much to ask again for a new standalone soundtrack release with movie stuff?
 
Yea, and now it's going to be 11 episodes long.

As for why? I can only guess money and having something "new" in preparation/promotion for Rising. I guess chances are they run a TV edition of Rebellion just after this too...
 
LOL at the re-compilation news. I get that they want money out of it but it’s just so pointless from an artistic standpoint. Just watch the films if you want the animation/soundtrack; there’s no reason to watch a poor imitation of the TV format otherwise.

I do like that they’re at least keeping Magia as the ED. So much has changed and yet some things always stay the same.
 
I am a little curious how they handle it.

From what I remember the biggest blemishes of the movies to me were 1) skipping the opening dream sequence 2) the flashback not really working as well as the original standalone episode (including the Connect as ED situation), even though they tried to make it artsy with the new "I miss you" sequence.

If they address those (add dream back and keep flashback as separate episode) then at the very least I would be interested in seeing how this recut back to TV format works.

They added the dream sequence back in for the TV Edition (with og "Magia"). XD
New episode1 covers the original's first two episodes (with "Magia [quattro]" instrumental playing during the og ep2 witch fight, don't remember if this was instrumental or vocal in the movie...).

Still think this would be a good time for standalone Music Collection 2... but no news so far...

And I'm also still curious if they continue with Rebellion TV Edition immediately after this...

newEp1 didn't have OP/ED but newEp2 has the og "Connect" and og "Magia" sequences.

newEp2 includes "Mirai" like the movie does for Mami's transformation. Was a little bit curious if they would commit to the movie music or work around reusing Kalafina (the original shows' "Credens justitiam" or "no more fear" from movie soundtrack CD, which was unused if memory serves) but no, they are sticking to the movie music.
