Skipped through it. Is it me or does it seem like there's actually not THAT much music? There's long gaps with nothing. Not even sfxish ones.

Disappointed the trailer music is all we get of Yuriko but most of what I heard seems promising, particularly the first (CM) theme. Can't wait for OST for whatever's there.

I wonder how maina would sound in "in the garden of sinners".

I don't know if it's in reference to me saying there's a lot of silence (which could be wrong, I never counted for the silence/music ratio - I just skipped through audio), but I see it as a chance there might not be unreleased music in this movie once the tokuten CD is out.

Edit:
I cut up that audio and ended up with under 63minutes. Granted, I could be missing something or at times be considering too much SFX.

Still, 1 CD should be more than enough space for everything.

Plz2include trailer version of Yuriko BGM and CONCEPT MOVIE music...

It’s not a reference, it’s based on what you said about the silence and on the lack of music in recent years. Honestly, at this point I’m already expecting one or two tracks in Rayearth OST.
Even if there’s unused music, we probably won’t ever know about it or get it anyway.
 
From the audio, i mostly liked the 2 Maina tracks, the Yuriko track, and the Kanata instrumental arrangement. . The utabito battle bgm was pretty bland, probably because of the strings. The utabito track near the end reminds me of the "time to sail!" track from Fena in style. The rest were mostly more of the same.

I ll still watch the movie if it ever comes at the cinemas here, since it ll be my first 100% Kajiura cinema watch 😬

agree that there's not a ton of music, but I like what's there. I especially enjoyed the revisited themes from the tv series

My post you were quoting talked about unreleased tracks left in the movie (like in "Rebellion" or "spring song", whether we should lament their exclusion is a different matter from what I was saying), not unused. Hopefully there won't be any unreleased ones considering there doesn't seem to be more than 63 minutes of YK music in this movie.

As for unused, yes, it's easier to not worry about things we don't even know are missing. Although for my KNK example, we have heard some things that were unused.

They didn't have to release "no more fear" on Madoka recap but they did. Completely different workflow perhaps, but they didn't have to release "leave me cold" (Cossette) or "once upon a time there was you and me" (Tsubasa) but they did.

Gib everything and all, I say.
 
I don't think it's the main reason. I guess it's because of a french law called "La chronologie des médias". In France, if a movie has a real release and it's not an event (meaning more than a few days), it can't be broadcast for SVOD before 17 months!!! French exception to protect movie theaters... Lots of movies on Crunchyroll France are available after most of the others countries because of this law (Suzume, Demon Slayer Mugen Train, Spy x Family Code White...). As a current example: Demon Slayer Infinity castle is not available on Crunchyroll France because it was on theaters in September 2025. It's not allowed to be available before February/March 2027 :(

But if the release is an "event" (limited time) and Crunchyroll could have the rights for french SVOD like for others countries, the release for the SVOD don't have to wait 17 months in France and could be the same than the others countries... And Crunchyroll could have choose this option because a real release on theaters could be financially not profitable but to have the show early in France for SVOD could be use as a sale argument...

How long/wide was the French theatrical run for something like Kimetsu movie? For what you're saying to take effect.

I'm also not sure how that works. Did Mario Galaxy movie not have a wide theatrical release in France? It was still released on bluray 4 months after the French theatrical release date (per imdb). Was that movie just an event too? Edit: Just checked on boxofficemojo and it seems to have been in theaters for 3 months in France. v( '')v

Does home media not fall under that jail rule?

Infinity Castle : Between september and december 2025... Pretty good result at the french box office by the way. Yes, home media has to follow a chronology too but it's one of the first "step" available : Home release is only a few months after the release (3 or 4 months, depends if it was a success on the box office).

A few years ago, it was... 36 months for VOD! 17 months now but if you participated to finance french productions/movies, it could be reduced (Canal+ : 6 months, Disney+ : 9 months -Avatar 3 is available this month..., Netflix : 15 months last year but the deal is off now so it's 17 months now). It's a mess...

For the most terrible example for me (and one of my favourite anime movie) : A silent voice. Release in Japan : October 2016. In France : August 2018 on theaters. VOD : August 2021 (first on ADN, now on Crunchyroll)... 5 years after the Japanese release... But it's really one of the worst case...
 
This is so stupid. If French want to protect domestic production they need to improve their movies to go back to how good they were in 60s and 70s. My father who knows good french said most french movies are now bad so no wonder less people watch them. Creating an unfair advantage by slowing down imported movies doesnt solve the problem, it only permanantly keeps up the money flow cause people who want to watch stuff are artificially forced to watch french movies cause those who they actually want to watch arent available 😅. If the imported movie is also bad people wont watch it like it happened with most of those Disney Live Action remakes of old classing animated ones.
