Gekijōban Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten & FictionJunction "Kanata" single (theme song)

like the song or not, the MV has already passed 1M views. And some sorrowful comments about missing Kalafina of course 😅
1 M isnt much if you compare it to japanese population and that a big chunch are repeat views and from abroad. Just myself i ve watched the MV 3 times on phone and 4-5 on PC.

Found a poor quality photo of the credits but I'm not confident with what I got out of it for now. (Guessing few names on shapes.)

I will say we have "FJ Studio" listed in the Recording Studios, alongside SOUND CITY, Studio Earkth.

TO BE CONFIRMED

... but wait for someone to confirm or a better image to pop up.

You... think... that's... pretty... clear...? You can tell each kanji stroke from that...? I need to take an eye exam, I guess.

No but its more or less same people as always. You can find their names inside cpm with search as i often list them with both kanji and latin.

... "more or less". Once again, I am reminded you don't give a cent about credits, lol.

"金子昌憲" site:canta-per-me.net

gives me nothing on google search... They're not in musician list on cpm either... they never worked with Kajiura before, although they worked on Shiina's side of Kimetsu (on albums you do not have credits for in CPM discography)...

so... "more or less"... yes... just as my guess based on shapes... more or less...

tldr: "pretty clear" my ass. Credits to be confirmed by someone who actually has it or better pictures...

Another interview focusing on "Kanata" for you guys to complain about. ;p

Edit:
Nothing new here, the previous interview covered the same things. Plus that other interview was much more broad and interesting and sweet (particularly Re:recording with her regulars). Even if one would also be correct in saying we already got most of that info in multiple interviews and documentaries before. XD

Rolling Stone Japan Interview

Some details about her music creation process and about Kajiurago... nothing really groundbreaking, which is a bit disappointing considering we're not used to getting such long interviews.

Such a waste of such a long interview on such a boring single lol.
Come on she basically says she is still composer thanks to Jr Korenaga and Kyoichi who renew her enjoyment of music after she is tired of it from composing and recording at home alone XD thats a first time she says it and first time she says she used to work part time jobs just to be able to go to live shows when younger. So its not entirely useless interview.

We also now know why the kanata lyrics are so plain and deja vu style, she basically wanted to keep them simple because the movie is too complex XD.

And another one for "Kanata". (I guess the YKL22 reports are done?)

First page is mostly the same as billboard one, plus "singing is fascinating", "a song can change with a different singer or every performance take", which I remember reading a couple times from YK. Second page has some musings and ends with "I'm glad to have a home studio now to continue making music when outside work/people stop coming" and more "I'm a gamer now" jokes. (Paraphrasing.)

Its just a banner promoting the single in the apple music store

honestly at first listen, i thought kanata was boring and plain — i really dislike when kajiura uses the short-long-short-long note style in her melodies, like in misterioso or adore— but the more i listened, it grew on me. and it reminds me of when Alleluia came out… out of all the KnK songs, it was the most generic and simple. YET it managed to come out as kalafina’s number ONE fan-selected favorite song. i think that’s the true magic of kajiura… with that being said i LOVE emiko’s vocals. LL too but wow emiko really shines in the verses.

it’s my first time hearing lighthouse, and can i say i have it on repeat and i might like it more than kanata… the kajiurago by yuriko is so beautiful. and the instrumental 😭 and kaori’s bridge. it’s another generic song to me but it harkens back to chiba saeko era. near the end of the chorus, LL sounds a bit like Chiaki or even YUUKA to me.

(i thought lighthouse was just a bside ☠️)
