Btw they picked Yasuharu Takahashi again this time for the sailor-moon-like Tokyo Mew Mew Remake called "new" and he made more of the same music as with the sailor moon reboot =_= Btw Kajiura had made some song for this, i wonder if we ll get some remastering of it ? https://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/mamoritai-kara/ (btw the original was the very first anime i watched in japanese because a greek channel was only airing 7 episodes and looping them while the whole series was like 52 lol, Tsubasa Chronicles was the 2nd one, where i discovered Yuki <3)

lol spacecraft's attempt at a girl band with Kajiura ?no.2? after Juliett? LRPS-1001 was Juliett's only single, Seiya/GET IN TO THE SUN. And then LRPS-1003 was Saeko already.
 
Except there is no way a song like that would sell well, its the typical kind of gofffy song used in an comedy anime where all the VAs sing a song together, except this time its wasnt VAs. I think it wasnt even used in the anime series ?

Btw there is a video with performance of the song (from someone's phone). Interested ?

Hiroshi Kamiya wouldn't be my choice to follow Sakurai...
At first I was disappointed with no Takanashi on music but then I noticed it's Taku Iwasaki and I got more interested, even though it's sad we won't hear old themes... Will be nice to hear Iwasaki again on a show where he can't really rely on his hiphop, dubstep or jazz sensibilities...

Hope there will be a standalone OST release.

I (and apparently thousands of Japanese people on twitter) felt this way too. The difference is I'm alright with Sakurai getting replaced, especially considering the theme of the series. Sadly (and expectedly) half of the Japanese people I saw reacted kinda negatively too this. Half demand that he'd still voice the character because I too have to admit that Sakurai is just too good at his roles, half are saying that please consider the theme of the series and the circumstances - you're a fake fan of the series if you still want Sakurai to voice him.
Mr. Sakurai still has so many hardcore fans and general anime watchers there are in the stance of "tbh idc what he did, his voice is just too good." People cheered when he doesn't get replaced as Geto in JJK.

I feel really bad for his wife and mistresses, but people are selfish as they usually think of their enjoyment first over anything else - that's not new.

Back to the topic of Mononoke, I can kinda see why they went with Kamiyan, but it's not my first choice too. With Kamiyan I feel like the vibe is kinda there but the voice isn't the best fit, iykwim.

In west what one does with his relationships is a personal matter, unless he commits a crime. Is cheating still having criminal penalty in Japan or is just unethical ?
 
There is a new anime called Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete; Gushing Over Magical Girls thats parody of Madoka and other magical girl anime (and +18)

In all honesty, while I don't mind the new prettified-anime-anime character designs, I feel it's all too shiny colorful bright... It's very in yo face...
...but maybe that's just me hanging onto the og ayakashi and mononoke anime...

Hopefuly the movie is just as good as the ogs and I can accept the movie as a new take.

PS. If anyone isn't familiar with the ogs, plz2go watch ayakashi Bake Neko arc and then MONONOKE tv anime. Kthx.

Hiroshi Kamiya is a no, but also the character was just a complete waste in this movie so maybe Kamiyan feels better in the 2nd or 3rd one...
The music is a dud (and I guess I understand why they didn't release a full OST for this movie alone...).
The visuals are pretty great BUT overly edited and I had to dim my TV by over 30% to not feel poked in my eyes so I guess... not really?

The story and storytelling... to me the pacing felt weird, convoluted while the "Reason" reveal - unsatisfying. At the end I was guessing a lot of story specific things (and they could be wrong...), rather than actually experiencing them...

tldr: everyone go watch ayakashi~Bake Neko~ arc & mononoke series. kthx.

At the end of the first movie I was wondering if they would stick to this location from chapter1 (because of how many characters appeared in maybe 3 scenes or less), and it seems they do.

TBH not sure how I feel about it. Hasn't happened before. Feels like it could be kinda boring visually and storytelling-wise. Not to mention weird that there's more big mononoke in the same place (I presume they will also stay here for chapter3?)...
