Hello, FJ CLUB members. I'm Yuki Kajiura.
Is it the middle of rainy season in most area of Japan when you get this newsletter? How are you doing in that damp, miserable season? There is almost no chance that I would bring my umbrella back to my home when I go out. So I didn't like rainy season ― till I visited the West Coast for business a few years ago. It was completely sunny in the West Coast. Always sunny....yesterday sunny...tomorrow sunny... On the first day I felt good. I thought what a beautiful dry, sunny place it was. After a few days, however, I gradually got annoyed. I thought "What a insipid sky! Make a cloud or something once in a while!" I absolutely can't make songs there . Once I experienced that "there-should-be-some-limits-to-be-sunny" days, I can feel rainy season― in which it's rather dark even when I get up in mornings, and in which I can enjoy gloomy feeling― very dear.
Now, after we've got through this June, FictionJunction Yuki Kajiura LIVE Vol.4 -Everlasting Songs Tour 2009-(This title is too long, I think.) finally starts. I'm choosing songs to use at the lives now, thinking about what I make the lives like. I can't wait to see you. I'd like to work hard on the preparation, relishing the joy of my birth in Japan, in which the four seasons are very distinct. But I'm okay with that it'll be sunny on the day of the concert. I hope it'll be sunny on the day! As for such events, I'm a rain bringer. So I think perhaps it'll be sunny.

You've already checked Everlasting Songs and Parallel Hearts, haven't you? at last December's live, I sang some songs from the album. And I'll go to Everlasting Songs Tour this July! We'll sing a lot of songs that we couldn't perform at that time. Please look forward to them♪
During the recording of the single, we were reading the original comics of Pandora Hearts and passing them on each other. The song itself is nice as a piece of music, and the link between the song and the original story is attractive. There is no doubt that the song will be one of the songs that excite you at the future lives! Let's get excited together at the lives !

This is the second newsletter! I like something like such stuff!! Since I can't see you other than at the lives only, I appreciate this place, the fan club!!
Now, this time I 'll talk about the upcoming live in this summer. We released the first single as FJ last month and we'll hold FJ Live for the first time in this year and it's our first tour―I'm really looking forward to it!! I couldn't be happier that I can go to Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo with the members! This time the lives are divided into two parts, so I can enjoy the performance of Yuu-san(YUUKA) from the same viewpoint as yours! I'll start training to do performance of higher quality than the last year's ones! Since all members of FJ are of high-level, I'll train! But we enjoy each other's company in our job sites. We are as close as we talk to each other about our recent private events! Girls' chats never end! I like FJ very much, like this.

I'm looking forward to seeing you at the live in July. For the first time we recently released the single as FJ, and I enjoyed the recording! Of course I sang hard during the recording, but the waiting time was so enjoyable that I didn't get tired of chatting with the other members. We were chatting for a long while even after my recording had finished. It's deafening when three women are together. I appreciated that Taguchi-san, an recording engineer, get some honey and lemons and so on ready at the vocals' booth. Thanks a lot.
I guess the songs from the album will be a major part of the July's lives. I'm sure that lives will be enjoyable! I'll sing hard with pleasure!

Hello, everyone. We can feel the wind that makes us feel it's getting close to summer!
How are you doing? Every day I stretch toward the sky and breathe deep! (I've eaten ice creams about three times, ahead of the summer) I can't wait for the summer and I feel excited every day! In this summer, I'm looking forward to the lives more than peaches, fireworks, and anything! This will be first live in two years for me as FJ YUUKA. With those who spent the time with me two years ago, as well as, those who didn't, and anyone, I want to enjoy hot nights this time as well together ! When I close my eyes, the memories of those times comes to my mind . Two years have surely passed. You, as well as me, have spent a lot of days, various days - we rushed, floated, stopped, cried, and rejoiced. In these various days, me as well as you that I'll be able to see on the days in July 2009, are the ones that can be together on the day only. So I want to make the lives one of the pages of your and my youth. Like a field trip of those days, we've made our heart beat faster since long before the day and we can keep excited till the trip ends, till we get home and go to bed. That is the time of magic. Let's wait and look forward to the day!
I'll keep my cherished songs and be waiting for you little earlier than you♪ Please bring your various memories along with the songs to the halls♪ Don't suffer from the summer heat before the lives!

WAKANA
Since "Parallel Hearts" is the first single as FictionJunction, it was the first time I took part in a shoot with the FictionJunction members. It was brutally cold the day of the shooting, so we all were shivering. Being comforted by sunlight that comes out sometimes, we were filmed at a shore. We couldn't hold our shivering every time we heard "Cut!" from the director, and we gradually got quiet. All told, we managed to finish the shoot successfully. Please take a look at the video that was made with all our might!
And, Yuki Kajiura LIVE#4 is coming in July in Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo! Centering around the songs from the album, the lives will be full of Japanese and Kajiurago, I guess! Also those who were unable to come because of living in far from the halls, I'd like them to come to the lives this time!
I hope to show you live FictionJunction, that is a bit different from the video, at the July's lives!
Extra column - PV filmed "Mr. M's report"
On May X, in the remaining cold of winter it was the first time we shot the five members as a PV. The shooting location was somewhere in Chiba, a site used to be used for preparing meals in wartime. That is inexplicably mysterious space surrounded by コ-shaped wall of bricks. KEIKO is shot her solo for some reason every time. YURIKO KAIDA took part in a PV shooting as one of main singers, surprisingly, for the first time. WAKANA was out of my sight very often. KAORI was standing tall for her age. The dressing room, where all of these women were, was just troublesome. In what way was it troublesome? I'll leave it to your imagination. The all-so-important PV is just "cool"! They are posing in their own way, and then their own characteristic moving were blowing in the wind of Chiba, it's got more cool. Kajiura didn't care even when a spider got into her keyboard. It's "cool"! Though KAIDA-san was, in fact, wearing sandals that were not her costume in the shooting at a beach ,it's "cool". Though a passing local said to us "The other day GLAY came here. Who are you? (in Chiba dialect)", the PV turned out to be "cool".

March 8 Kalafina Kick Off Greeting Vol.0
WAKANA(W):This was the first Kalafina-only event. It was so cold the day that I was worried about whether audiences would come. I was really happy that a lot of people came to two concerts. I realized again that we are supported by many fans.
KEIKO(K):It was the first time we sang with karaoke, so we started practice all over again! Each of us got ourselves psyched up to overcome our each weakness in daily practices. We worked with greatest concentration! On the day, seeing a lot of audience making a long line, I was really on the verge of tears. And I was very nervous while I was talking on the stage for the first time. It was "nice-to-meet-you-like" Kalafina.
HIKARU(H):Hello, I'm HIKARU. I remember that I was very nervous that day. It was the first time I handed fans my autographs. I had butterflies in my stomach. I was glad that the fans warmly watched over restarting of Kalafina, that used to be a project for Kara no Kyoukai.
Apr. 16 Live concert "Onnanoko no uta (girls' songs)@morph-tokyo"
W:During one month after the previous concert, we practiced again and again. It would be the first time we appear on stage with other singers, and we would perform songs from the album for the first time. We couldn't help being nervous. We were very unclear about how we could perform songs from the album at the live.
K:With a determination to overcome our points of reflection, I had been looking very forward to that day. We talked over our costumes with each other and went looking for them. After such trial and error by ourselves, the day of performance came. Honestly, I really enjoyed that live. We still have to improve our talks and performances but I felt that we could make the live together with the audience. Through that day I thought clubs with live music had their own forte!
H:That was the first time we gave our live performance at morph-tokyo. We chose our costumes by ourselves and sang twice as many songs than ever.
Above all, I was very happy that we sang songs from the album(not singles' songs) for the first time and we swang our hands up together with the audience!
May 2 NHK WORLD "Pop Up Japan" Public Recording *aired on July 8 , on NHK-FM
W:I had heard that it would be a radio program recording but I thought it was almost a TV program recording. Since it was a public recording, we gave a live performance in front of the audience and talked with Pakkun-Makkun (a comedy duo consisting of an American and a Japanese). For me, it's difficult to talk on radio, and it got harder when they talked in English(laugh). So I was in a mess. HIKARU is good at English and she was remained placid!
May 7 Live concert "Musou no Rakuen" at morph-tokyo
W:It was the second time we appeared at that kind of event. The number of songs increased from previous event's, and what's more, Kajiura-san appeared as a guest! It was a gorgeous set list. I was excited to perform "Gloria" with Kajiura-san's live piano and at the same time I was worried about whether my heart could work till the end (laugh). It is really wonderful that we can sing live. The most unexpected thing was that we could sing "Lacrimosa" twice!
K:That time, the second time at morph-tokyo, the talk section was longer than the previous event. I enjoyed it! Kajiura-san, a strolling keyboardist (laugh), appeared on the stage as a surprising guest and we performed two songs in acoustic version. That's one of my good memories. The reaction of the audience was great!!
H:I felt that we could enjoy music much more with the audience as we sang more songs. I sang with Kajiura-san's piano for the first time. Also as an individual that live is memorable.
May 15 Kalafina's New Single PV Shooting

May 18 Rehearsal
W:That was the day before the first Kalafina-only live and the last rehearsal with the band. When the band adds to Kalafina's songs, the atmosphere amazingly changes. So I couldn't wait for tomorrow during the rehearsal, which was very enjoyable.
K:There were some members I first met because it was the first rehearsal with the band. Live music is great, indeed ! Their sound vibrated my body so much that I got excited. The rehearsal ended in no time at all.
H:"Tomorrow is the day of the performance!!" I braced myself for the rehearsal. The band makes the Kalafina's music doubly fun! Actually, that day I couldn't sleep well because of the joy of meeting audiences and the elation of performing with the excellent members and staffs.
May 19 The First Live: Kalafina Closed Premium Live at Shibuya O-WEST
W: Finally, Kalafina-only live came! Since the morning I felt like my feet were leaving the earth and my heart was floating. Through those two months, we had experienced many lives, imprinting them in our mind. We approach the live, feeling it was a closure and a grand sum. I felt the concert was new and I felt mixed feelings - joy, fun, and a little anxiety. The time just flew by in the live and we got to the encore in no time. I can't forget that the audience sang with us. I got more precious things― that we are keeping on singing as Kalafina like this, and that we can share a laugh with audience.
I really appreciate your constant support!
K: At last the precious day came. I couldn't sleep well last night(laugh). Ordinarily there is moderate feeing of tension. Ordinarily - but it was different from "ordinarily"!!!! It was the Kalafina-only live that I had been dreaming of! We had been making a collective effort to make a perfect live! Being supported by the band members, I sang each phrase with great care to get Kalafina's music across to the audience. Thanks a lot! It was very hard to express Kalafina's songs at a live. That's why I'll continue to be strict with myself and make an effort to perform the best constantly. I'm getting fired up about the live on Aug. 26!!
H: Kalafina-only live for the first time!! I was nervous but I could enjoy it very much. I couldn't help dropping tears on the warmth of the audience, some of whom had come to our past lives, and the others for the first time. I was really happy to see the audiences and enjoy the music together. I strongly realized again that it is thanks to our fans that Kalafina can work in this way. Thank you for your constant support!! Kalafina will work hard to see you more often!! Thank you.

I'm in charge of the BGM of "Rekishi Hiwa Historia", currently on air on NHK. This program talks about the untold stories behind great figures in history and lesser-known figures who have their own way of life. This is very interesting program. I enjoy it every week, putting aside the music I've made. The program makes us like "humans". I've written dozens of new songs for it. The producer of the program gave me bold orders, and some songs, I guess, are a little too adventurous for BGM behind narration. I hope the sounds are adding color to the program.
In addition, Kalafina's single "storia", a cover song of the theme of the program, will be released on July 1. This song has a little bit different flavor from the original, which is with a coined language and played at the opening of the program. But I think I've suceeded in making a new color of Kalafina by covering a song that was initially not supposed to be put with Japanese lyrics. I hope you enjoy the single as well.
And, "Pandora Hearts", a TV animation also currently on air. I'm now making BGM of the last half of the story. The keypoint of the music in the program is the melody that comes from the fob watch that plays an important role in the story. This melody is played in the program almost every episode. As the story develops, this melody is going to appear in different forms. If you can live in the areas that one can watch it, I hope you enjoy the music along with the program. Though I have a favorite character in "PandoraHearts", he/she hasn't appeared in the animation yet. I'm looking forward to see him/her. The story develops very thrillingly and I'm fired up to make the BGM, enjoying the story. That's my recent daily life.
And when June is over, the lives comes! My music life is filled with happiness.

Monologue of Songstresses vol.2 KAORI
Hello! I'm KAORI, who's in charge of "Monologue of Songstresses" this time.
Vol.2 of the newsletter has come and it's getting more and more meaty, I think? I'm also one of those who are looking forward to the newsletters!
FictionJunction has Everlasting Songs Tour in July. This time what will Kajiura-san come up with...!? I feel a litte fear(laugh). But the more eccentric something is, or the more impossible something seems, I get more excited. Every time I really look forward to seeing how she arranges lives and recordings. How is it going to be this time, in Everlasting Songs Tour? What will Kajiura-san do(laugh)?
I listened to the Kalafina's album released in March. It's so cool!!, isn't it? It couldn't be better! The feeling of multinational is what I'm addicted to. I've got obsessed by Hii-chan(HIKARU)'s voice and I'm listening to it again and again. I've sung her song at karaoke(laugh).
Now, in this feature I'd like to write a monologue-like text to let you know about some of myself. Though it's my personal matter, I reached my 21st birthday recently and I got a lot of my favorite frog goods as well as flowers and letters. Thanks so much! Now that my home is a nice "frog house"(laugh).
Though there are many frog-character goods, once in a great while I get real, creature-like frog goods. I'm addicted to them. I'm addicted to their reality and exoticness! Do you know "Goliath frog"? They are frogs but as big as humans! They are really awesome!! Exciting!! Crazy!! They would surely assault me, who is 171cm(5.6 feet) tall, as they are extraordinary big! Huge bulk!! I'm really interested in how their bodies are pliable. I want to see them! I want to meet them!! Oh,no, I can't help talking like the "Princess shark"! Though this is a monologue, is it okay in this way? If I supposed that WAKANA loved frogs in place of sharks, we could understand each other in different ways(laugh) . Could I let you know my passion, which I'll never talk about on stage? Now that I've showed some of my freakishness, I'd like to finish this time(laugh). May 18 Rehearsal
W:That was the day before the first Kalafina-only live and the last rehearsal with the band. When the band adds to Kalafina's songs, the atmosphere amazingly changes. So I couldn't wait for tomorrow during the rehearsal, which was very enjoyable.
K:There were some members I first met because it was the first rehearsal with the band. Live music is great, indeed ! Their sound vibrated my body so much that I got excited. The rehearsal ended in no time at all.
H:"Tomorrow is the day of the performance!!" I braced myself for the rehearsal. The band makes the Kalafina's music doubly fun! Actually, that day I couldn't sleep well because of the joy of meeting audiences and the elation of performing with the excellent members and staffs.
May 19 The First Live: Kalafina Closed Premium Live at Shibuya O-WEST
W: Finally, Kalafina-only live came! Since the morning I felt like my feet were leaving the earth and my heart was floating. Through those two months, we had experienced many lives, imprinting them in our mind. We approach the live, feeling it was a closure and a grand sum. I felt the concert was new and I felt mixed feelings - joy, fun, and a little anxiety. The time just flew by in the live and we got to the encore in no time. I can't forget that the audience sang with us. I got more precious things― that we are keeping on singing as Kalafina like this, and that we can share a laugh with audience.
I really appreciate your constant support!
K: At last the precious day came. I couldn't sleep well last night(laugh). Ordinarily there is moderate feeing of tension. Ordinarily - but it was different from "ordinarily"!!!! It was the Kalafina-only live that I had been dreaming of! We had been making a collective effort to make a perfect live! Being supported by the band members, I sang each phrase with great care to get Kalafina's music across to the audience. Thanks a lot! It was very hard to express Kalafina's songs at a live. That's why I'll continue to be strict with myself and make an effort to perform the best constantly. I'm getting fired up about the live on Aug. 26!!
H: Kalafina-only live for the first time!! I was nervous but I could enjoy it very much. I couldn't help dropping tears on the warmth of the audience, some of whom had come to our past lives, and the others for the first time. I was really happy to see the audiences and enjoy the music together. I strongly realized again that it is thanks to our fans that Kalafina can work in this way. Thank you for your constant support!! Kalafina will work hard to see you more often!! Thank you.
Yuki Kajiura
I'm in charge of the BGM of "Rekishi Hiwa Historia", currently on air on NHK. This program talks about the untold stories behind great figures in history and lesser-known figures who have their own way of life. This is very interesting program. I enjoy it every week, putting aside the music I've made. The program makes us like "humans". I've written dozens of new songs for it. The producer of the program gave me bold orders, and some songs, I guess, are a little too adventurous for BGM behind narration. I hope the sounds are adding color to the program.
In addition, Kalafina's single "storia", a cover song of the theme of the program, will be released on July 1. This song has a little bit different flavor from the original, which is with a coined language and played at the opening of the program. But I think I've suceeded in making a new color of Kalafina by covering a song that was initially not supposed to be put with Japanese lyrics. I hope you enjoy the single as well.
And, "Pandora Hearts", a TV animation also currently on air. I'm now making BGM of the last half of the story. The keypoint of the music in the program is the melody that comes from the fob watch that plays an important role in the story. This melody is played in the program almost every episode. As the story develops, this melody is going to appear in different forms. If you can live in the areas that one can watch it, I hope you enjoy the music along with the program. Though I have a favorite character in "PandoraHearts", he/she hasn't appeared in the animation yet. I'm looking forward to see him/her. The story develops very thrillingly and I'm fired up to make the BGM, enjoying the story. That's my recent daily life.
And when June is over, the lives comes! My music life is filled with happiness.

Monologue of Songstresses vol.2 KAORI
Hello! I'm KAORI, who's in charge of "Monologue of Songstresses" this time.
Vol.2 of the newsletter has come and it's getting more and more meaty, I think? I'm also one of those who are looking forward to the newsletters!
FictionJunction has Everlasting Songs Tour in July. This time what will Kajiura-san come up with...!? I feel a litte fear(laugh). But the more eccentric something is, or the more impossible something seems, I get more excited. Every time I really look forward to seeing how she arranges lives and recordings. How is it going to be this time, in Everlasting Songs Tour? What will Kajiura-san do(laugh)?
I listened to the Kalafina's album released in March. It's so cool!!, isn't it? It couldn't be better! The feeling of multinational is what I'm addicted to. I've got obsessed by Hii-chan(HIKARU)'s voice and I'm listening to it again and again. I've sung her song at karaoke(laugh).
Now, in this feature I'd like to write a monologue-like text to let you know about some of myself. Though it's my personal matter, I reached my 21st birthday recently and I got a lot of my favorite frog goods as well as flowers and letters. Thanks so much! Now that my home is a nice "frog house"(laugh).
Though there are many frog-character goods, once in a great while I get real, creature-like frog goods. I'm addicted to them. I'm addicted to their reality and exoticness! Do you know "Goliath frog"? They are frogs but as big as humans! They are really awesome!! Exciting!! Crazy!! They would surely assault me, who is 171cm(5.6 feet) tall, as they are extraordinary big! Huge bulk!! I'm really interested in how their bodies are pliable. I want to see them! I want to meet them!! Oh,no, I can't help talking like the "Princess shark"! Though this is a monologue, is it okay in this way? If I supposed that WAKANA loved frogs in place of sharks, we could understand each other in different ways(laugh) . Could I let you know my passion, which I'll never talk about on stage? Now that I've showed some of my freakishness, I'd like to finish this time(laugh).
