But development doesn't necessarily mean "change". It can also refer to details that are given to the character, and that really doesn't mean change. Or "evolution", like some like to claim.
 
^ I didn't say it had to mean change. I just said development had to happen and happen well for a show to have good character development.

And that's in-canon, too, not stupid character profiles released to try and cash in.
 
^if you look up at the dictionary, one of the definitions of development may turn out to be change, and that's why I said that, since you mentioned that's in the name.

Anyway, I could complain about some things for the sake of staying on topic but I will refrain myself from doing it.

I agree with you. Having heard more about SGU, I feel that the fans did the same thing with that: basically, it's a really boring and badly-written space soap opera, but yet there are those diehard fans who have to say SOMETHING good about it. (And of course the fans who have to bash it and its creators at every turn, something I also don't really agree with. But that's another story...)

And also, just so you know, I actually wasn't talking at all about your Madoka posts. I was a little taken aback by how vehement you got, but the source of my whining was the Youtube giru fans again. Even when they're not pitching fits, they say things like "giru totally sold themselves out making this album." And that's in whose opinion? THEIRS. Not mine, not a lot of their Japanese fans', not a lot of their foreign fans'. THEIR PERSONAL OPINION. So if they want to believe that giru 'sold themselves out', fine. But allow for others to believe that they were really following their hearts (as trite as it sounds) in creating this new musical sound, no matter how strange it may seem.

So my complaint is: Why doesn't anyone take other fans seriously when they say that? Okay, so a real fan gives his real opinion, I don't disagree with that. But can't a real fan be more open-minded, and maybe consider that these guys are now doing what they really wanted to all along? I personally don't think they looked very comfortable being Visual Kei, wearing white contact lenses, and writing songs that stayed on the same chord all the time and had no melody line except for screaming...

I still don't regret I found them, though :tea:

Why do I like crappy harem shows so much? :TdT: I don't know what it is about to-LOVE-ru that makes me like it. It's terrible and the only redeeming factors about it are one or two characters and sometimes the art in places.
 
I hate it when people turn their base up so your whole house shakes (or when they turn it up at all) when I'm listening to good and actual music. I wish I had an em pulse to blast every time they come past, but I do not. *sigh*

^What I don't get is how can that be safe for driving? It's practically vibrating off the road, and when you're next to someone doing that your car shakes too. ugh... okay i will stop now but it just annoys me. heh
