I really like Anna ni ishou datta no ni, especially the Engrish bridge and Wakana lines in the verse!

Very very nice!

But... :ayashii:

Anyone finds it a bit wierd that they actually sound better doing covers than singing their own song?

Not that the rendition os HnS is bad. In fact, I found it to be one of the best live renditions ever! (Just that it was overshadowed by the other two tracks.)

Haha, I was thinking this as well, but I just took it in stride :XD: It's cool to hear Kalafina singing songs other than their own.

^For Yuzurenai, it's easier than Kalafina's song in aspect of singing technique. I haven't listened to Annani...will give some comment after that.., but I'm happy that it turned out a good perf.., coz Annani is the first Yuki's song that I've heard, even it took about a few years after that to know Yuki as a music composer..lol. :XD:

Edit: As for Annani Issho Datta No Ni, Wakana opening sounds lack of..passionate..which is so full in Chiaki's version, but it's better in the latter part. :sparkleguy:

Hikaru's parts are good :nosebleed: ...it's really close to her style..lol. They did well in chorus&bridge.. I think Annani in this version is still easier than the average of Kalafina's songs.. :plot: .

The English extension is so great..Love it..^ ^. (I think Keiko can sing it more emotional than Wakana, but we need her more in Chorus... :uh..: )

:XD: Well, maybe it's because we're used to hearing their own songs in CD version, so when they sing it live, we can hear any slight deviation in voice, while for covers, it would be the first time we hear their voices in that song. Just what I think though.

Hikaru's voice sounds deeper than usual? in this live methinks :tea:

Likewise, this is what I thought as well and how the performance sounded like for me. We'll probably end up having a different opinion of the live if they did a studio version of the cover beforehand but eh... Who knows? I'd say several other factors may contribute to this too, like as mentioned above, perhaps the complexity of the song? :ayashii:

Re: Re:

Here's my take:

Well, for sure, Keiko isn't using her "usual" alto voice to sing the pieces (esp. for Yuzurenai Negai). Instead, she is using her old "Itokubo" voice (which resonates at a higher frequency). Perhaps it's this refreshing "change" that makes the cover pieces sound very nice.

It may be down to the quality of the recording and mastering, I think. Her voice sounds the same to me (pitch-wise), except it's now a lot more textured and very very passionate. You can feel the emotions just flowing in "Anna Issho".

Her voice has matured a lot from the past live events too. One of the best technical executions for live events I've heard in a long while.

It's the same with Wakana's voice and Keiko. So full of emotion and passion. Sweet!

ADD: Come to think of it...Wakana's voice does seem to be missing her usual "sparkle" texture a bit.

Her voice tends to go flat when she's tensed. This one has become much much better than the one in Anisama 2009, though. :tea:

It certainly is a very very good performance. But the "sparkle" I was referring to is something else. It's more of her vocal texture.

Here are the complete one :shy: :shy:

Thanks for the links, Wikki Pan and Special_K :shy: I was going crazy trying to find a dl for this that I could actually access :uh..:

That Anna ni Issho datta no ni performance...wow :waii: :nosebleed:

Thanks for the videos! Now I can loop these without having to go through the entire concert. :shy:

Just recently saw Anna ni...I don't like Wakana in the beginning, but in the rest she was okay. Hikaru was good. Keiko was good as well. Overall good performance.

Thanks so much! Now have seen both songs, I wish they would release this on cd! The Rayearth song was good, it was interesting to hear them sing that song. And Anna ni... wow. I love the soft part after the english. (Will have to listen more carefully after work heh) And the english part sounded good. It would be cool if they would perform with Chiaki. :dote:
