I have a question...

Both Kalafina and Scandal debuted in 2008, and both of them sing anime songs. But how come Scandal are more appear to be more popular than Kalafina ? I see that Scandal attend more anime song events than Kalafina. in animax musix you can also see that Scandal appeared as bigger name than Kalafina.

"attend more anime song events" does not mean "more popular".

im terms of sales their two albums have sold a lot more than Kalafina's :S
Maybe japan has a thing for high school girls @_@ or their more energetic style of music.... or maybe it is because they get more exposure from attending more events? I like Kalafina's music way more though :XD:

Yeah, aside from more popular I also wonders how come they attend or invited to more events than kalafina ? :uh..:

well, if invited more, that means they potentially more popular, right ?

I think its because SCANDAL's songs are more mainstream that Kalafina thus its liked by wider audience of people. Promotion also counts, and I cant say Kalafina are good in that: their single album and sheet music book (+ the dvd/bd) covers are (most of them) poor, the interviews are pretty rare, the only thing they have positive is their bay fm radio broadcast (which we dont know how much people listen). Also Scandal use japanese men's weak point: school girl uniforms :plot:

Humm, let's just say that they're sold for different audience, okay? :spotlight:

...thanks to Bleach, FMA and other popular anime to SCANDAL's Success XD *flees* (or whatever the reason to their success xD)

oh come on... not all people listen to scandal... i dont even know them until recently... yuki88's right... they sold to different audience... and people have their own taste in music...

it's not a matter of who's more popular or not... what's important is that each has their own fanbase that supports them... thus they will continue to sing good music for them...

do i make sense? lol

A group's popularity is usually inversely proportional to their actual singing ability

(im assuming Kalafina is not that popular for this rule to work, for in my opinion, Kalafina/FJ should belong on top of world charts :dote: )

I went to this live event and enjoyed it. all of kalafina's performances were good. especially "anna ni...," that was beyond good. I mean inhumanly fantastic.
oh and "kagayaku..." was also memorable for its elegance, while most of the other singers sang rockish tunes.

Watchan.

Edit:
They are using earpieces here. Plenty of earcancer, but overall, I guess not the absolute disaster I was expecting on oblivious.

Edit2:
WHAT THE FUCK CUTTING ORIGA SHORT?!??! WTF ANIMAX??

Edit3:
Well they were great in the Rayearth OP.

tldr: praise the earpieces?

Oh? They finally used earpiece? Guess that can't be helped. With a large stage such as Yokohama Arena, It would have been stupid if they didn't use earpiece.

Damn, wanna watch too :TdT:

It's not the full show indeed. The original live was extended to 7 hours and I doubt they'll actually broadcast that long... I wish they'd just release this on DVD/BD :TdT:
