Angela/Domestic Love Band

Was scrolling through the Otakuland thread and then realised we don't have a thread about Angela :ayashii: Before someone says there is, I'll make myself clear... I can't find it! :omg: May I be given enlightenment if there is? :plz:


So is there anyone else who likes Angela, or their songs?
How did you meet them?
Any new things happening?

First song I heard was Peace of Mind. Then after that I went all over Youtube for their songs. So far I've listened to and loved PoM, Yakusoku, Proof, Link, Kyomu no Arashi, Gravitation, Aoi Haru (the live version is esp great) amongst others.

I was sooooo upset when I realised I would not be in Singapore during the AFA 2011 last year... missed the big chance to see Kalafina and Angela in action :cry: :cry: :cry:

So, fire away then...!

EDIT: Domestic Love Band, the alter ego band of angela can be discussed as well (in case anyone is wondering.)
 
There isn't one? I thought there is, well anyway...
The first song I heard was Beautiful fighter, Shikabane Hime OP (they did the OP&ED for the 2 seasons). After that I went on youtube and fell in love with Shangri-La.
I like Atsuko's duet with Chiaki, and the way KATSU rocks at animelo also :dote:

If you follow Chiaki Ishikawa's twitter you will see that she's friends with Atsuko.

A more unusual collaboration was Atsuko with Minorin on one Animax Musix for Nana Mizuki's "Eternal Blaze".

(Yes I only discovered Angela/Domestic Love Band through Animelo Summer Live videos and have yet to see them live).

I looove Angela. I must have listened to Shangri-la about a million times. (Me and my friend Lisa used to sing it in the car a lot lol) and I like all the ones you posted. And Kirafuwa is a really uplifting song for me. Shangri-la was the first song I think I heard from Fafner, and I like that anime a lot too. Then I started getting their cds. (Have not gotten their newest one yet, but want to.)

Just wondering, is Atsuko an alto like Keiko, or does she have any other classification like mezzo-sop? I've heard her go deep in songs like Link, but her voice in Peace of Mind was rather high... :ayashii: or is she just having a fortunate wide voice range?

Keiko is a contralto.
I have no idea how could you classify Atsuko's voice, I don't have much musical knowledge.
But after listening to Link and Peace of mind again I can asure you she's nowhere near Keiko.
And I like the songs where she sings higher anyway. :XD:
 
This was my favourite song of theirs. It was played in the ending of Shikabane Hime's final episode of season 1 when Keisei died. :cry:

@Mayu: that is a great song.

I really do wish I had enough money to travel and see them live. (Or any of my favorite artists for that matter.) If someone goes they will have to post here how the concert is.
 
@Kugayama, Liana: Yeah, that song is awesomely depressing. I even cried in the scene when Keisei was dying and that song was playing in the background. :rain:

Was great to be able to attend the 30 December concert in Tokyo as the finale of Angela's "2012 Magic Wonder Great Circus" tour. It lasted about 3 and a quarter hours and finished with "Peace of Mind" and "Shangri La". Great atmosphere, dedicated fans...
 
The first Angela song I ever heard was "Asu e no Brilliant Road" - the opening from Uchuu no Stellvia. My little sister and I one shotted that series. We stayed up the whole night and watched the entire thing in one sitting! Anyway, I have a lot of their stuff now. They have such an interesting sound, I can't help but like it. :)
