Hello all. My name is Ron, and I finally decided to make an account after lurking on CPM since 2008... right around the time when this website went through that horrible crash.

As for my familiarity with Kajiura, I first became acquainted with her work from Gundam SEED (Anna ni...) back in 2002, but it really wasn't until 2004 when she composed half of Xenosaga Ep. II's OST that I began to seriously follow her work. FJ Yuuka started around then, and well... I guess the rest is history. Fast forward to 2015, and Kajiura has pretty much been a fixture for more than half my life (just to give y'all an estimate on my age haha).

I typically like her work, though her emotive/moody/mysterious pieces (KnK/SH and Petit Cossette, just to name a couple of my favorites) are more my type. Her happy/joyful songs (most of After Eden) and generic Jpop drivel (Kalafina's recent singles) are not really my cup of tea.

As for me, I am a med student. My life is fairly uneventful, and has become almost nonexistent ever since I started my studies. Oh, and singing is a hobby of mine (bass-baritone). It's kind of funny that even though Heavenly Blue ranks low on my list of favorite Kalafina songs, it's still fun for me to sing it. It's weird.

Anyway, it's nice to finally come out of the shadows after all these [7?!] years to meet you all.

Welcome MedChemist! I can imagine that being a medical student wouldn't give you much time for other things. It sounds like you could do with the choral equivalent of http://www.aumo.org.au/ where you study.

Please feel free to ask any questions about Yuki Kajiura's music or just saying what you like about her music or as you've already started, favourite pieces to cover.

Hopefully when you have break from your studies you can attend some live shows in Japan. The extended family of singers, musicians and composers are also worth checking out (e.g. Chiaki Ishikawa, Lisa Komine...).

Cute morphine pic :p (or is it one of the derivatives ??) my names atlas, man. Nice meeting you and welcome :D

@Kugayama That's pretty cool! My school has something akin to a chorus group, but the thought of performing in public makes me excessively nervous. Ironically, singing is something I do to just calm my nerves whenever things stress me out. I'll definitely try to visit Japan sometime if I can ever carve out some vacation time. It's pretty tough right now.

@HimeWakana Thanks! How is Milan? In addition to Japan, it's another place that I'd love to visit.

@KanaRinGasu Nice meeting you, and sharp eye! Yep it's morphine, drawn in a more realistic 3D way than most depictions out there. How'd you know?

Wow, I also discovered Yuki Kajiura through Gundam SEED. . And yeah, being a student makes it tough to go on Kala/YK lives. Also skipped watching anime for weeks because of school, lol.
Btw, welcome to CPM! C:

Hi MedChemist! :hi: Welcome to CPM! I'm a newbie here as well, just started in February. And same! I discovered her through Gundam SEED, but didn't really become a huge fan, although I love almost of the songs she composed~ And FictionJunction YUUKA :sohappy:

I also wanted to become a doctor before but alas, I got drifted away somewhere. Completely okay with me now though.
I love singing too, and I understand what you mean by having fun singing heavenly blue despite everything! :ohoho:

Anyway, let's discover more of Kajiura Yuki's music together, and again, welcome to the forums~ :w00t:

Welcome, welcome :hi:.

Good to see someone else who loves the Petit Cossette soundtrack, I know there's a few around but many people I know who listen to Kajiura's works don't know she did that. I didn't even like Petit Cossette but the soundtrack is phenomenal, plus it was the first thing I heard from Kajiura or her projects, so it holds that specialness to me. As for Kalafina, it was Lacrimosa for me. Safe to say, both of these meant I was looking forward to Madoka Magica which I'm also a huge fan of :sohappy:.

Med sounds like an interesting profession, although not an easy one I suspect. Hope you'll get a chance to see Kajiura or her projects live, I've only seen Kalafina myself but they were amazing :plz:.

official welcome to cpm!

gl with med school. Kerah (the one who started this site) is doing residency now I think

Welcome! I am Liana. Please ask if you have any questions and I will try to answer them. I was a member from since before the crash as well, and have been a Yuki fan since I heard her in Noir. I have been to two Kalafina lives, Anime Boston when they started in 2009 and a couple of years ago at ACen which is in Chicago, which I live near, in 2013. I was privileged to meet Yuki and Kala at the autograph session in Boston and then again (Just Kalafina) and gave them my symphonia drawing, Wakana went "Oooh Symphonia!" and I said "Hai" which means yes, in my timid voice. heh Anyways, hope you like it here!
