Hello, Canta Per Me! I'm finally registering after lurking for a few weeks, and since I'm a little new to forum communities in general, thanks in advance for helping with my bumps against the learning curve. (EDIT1: I am indeed male, and a resident of California. The guess that I live in Europe is charming, though.)

My first encounter with Kajiura's compositions was from the anime .hack//SIGN, and I enthusiastically learned a few pieces on piano. I was obsessed with how she could create such emotional atmospheres with relatively simple themes, and manage to keep doing it in a beautiful fashion, track after track. But what really turned me into a fan was the animation Kara no Kyoukai, and thereafter Kalafina became the goddesses of my life, to put it mildly. I had the fortune of attending the panel and meeting them at Anime Expo, and although I am a little hung up on not knowing whether my gifts made it to them, I am proud to have made them.

I dabble in piano, flute, and guitar, but have not mastered any; I resign myself to be eternally enthusiastic about learning instruments without becoming proficient in any one in particular. My musical interests are closer to the analysis and arrangement fields--I have arranged "Sis puella magica" from Madoka for music box, and will be posting that in the Creative Corner shortly. Regrettably, I do not know Japanese, but I have passable skills in Chinese, Spanish, and French. I should probably improve what I have before embarking on a long-delayed journey to learning nihongo, but recent experiences have given me second thoughts on that matter.

Anyway, in the interest of making this introduction thread less bland, I would like to play a game with you: "Three Truths and a Lie!" It's simple; I list four statements about myself, one of which is a lie. Use the poll to vote for which statement you think is false--i.e. not completely true about me. Ahh, so it's okay to give them gifts? That's good, I was thinking that I should, if I ever get to meet them, but... I didn't know whether it was proper decorum to do so. :dote:

I had the same anxiety. The staff there assured me that it's common for their Japanese fans to do so, and that they do encourage it here in America, but it's still relatively rare. I ended up leaving the gifts with staff because I wasn't sure I would get in on the signing...now I'll never know.

Well, it's a relief to know I'm not alone! Aside from me buying all their albums and Red Moon DVD like a creepy pro, I did want to get them something for being such talented vocalists and allowing the production of the CDs that I love. :shy:
 
Welcome! I am either Lina or Liana. That's cool that you composed the Madoka song for music box and played some songs on the piano. (I only played a couple on the violin myself and am not very good :shy: ) Hope you like it here!

Heh, my favorite games are Chrono Trigger and Ragnarok Online. You can guess what class I played almost exclusively, I bet. Glad you caught on!
 
Ahhhhhhhh! Those two games are my favorites too! Too bad I can't play acolyte class hahahaha.I have characters with Mage,Swordman,and Archer Class but I never succeed on making a success acolyte although I really want to have / play a Priest.
In what console did you play Chrono Trigger? I just play it in NDS and I still haven't finished it yet, because I give my bigger devotion to Etrian Odyssey 3 ~~
 
Heh, it's a secret X) But you should definitely finish Chrono Trigger! It's a classic and defines the genre. I actually have never finished a Final Fantasy game...I just get bored of them about halfway through. But I played Xenogears and Chrono Trigger so I wonder what that says about me...

I had many classy moments as a priest. It's something I nostalgically reminisce about, but RO is so fickle...
 
I'll finish it if I already finished Etrian Odyssey 2. I've finished Etrian Odyssey 1 and 3 but never succeed to finish the EO 2.

I get bored with FF too, and just like you, I never finished play that game.

Yeah, RO is so fickle so I never play that game now. Just sometime missing it hahahaha.

The only Final Fantasy game I've finished was Final Fantasy X, but I'm on the way to finishing IX. Final Fantasy Tactics is so much fun that I don't want to complete it, but the recent ones - such as FFXII and FFXIII - are just so tedious. There's only so much linear corridor I can tolerate, okay.

Well, it seems that people have lost interest in my little game, so it's time for me to announce the results!

I do usually wear a collared shirt and jeans every day to school, and when I show up to the archery field like that, a lot of people think I'm dressed up for something. Hey, it's California =\

My girlfriends were older than me by 15, 3, and 10 months. I think it says more about my birthday than my tastes :XD:

This one birthday party, we had marker fights on a trampoline while wearing "bunny suits" (the clean suits you see people wearing in manufacturing, not the kind with ears) to keep score. I won my match, but later on, there were some kids playing with padded duct tape swords. Since I hadn't done any sparring that day, a challenger leapt into the trampoline where I was happily bouncing and eager onlookers threw in two swords. He made the first move, which was a pretty playful tap in retrospect, and for some unfathomable reason I responded with a surge of adrenal frenzy that left him floored. I was poised over him, executioner-style, until I realized that he was curled up in pain, and that one of the five or so strikes I dealt out had landed squarely in his crotch. I wasn't aiming for there or anything, just lost myself in the red mist. I felt so guilty about this that I spent the rest of the party moping...other people were probably thinking this of me though :kungfu:

So that leaves the lie: I wouldn't trade my perfect pitch for mastery of an instrument. Mastery you can learn, with enough dedication and practice. A blessing/curse like absolute pitch isn't really learnable. Besides, I think I'm content to admire real musicians, and to do my kind of work in another realm. :dote:
