But they ARE close-aged. and they know each other since before Noir came out which means at least 2000 (Yuriko was main bgm vocalist for Noir ost), so 26 years, almost whole of Kajiura's composing career.

Looks like a followup song from lighthouse. The song has the same uplifting vibes so no wonder Kajiura chose Lino again. Fun fact, "Kanata" in greek means "jug" so that title is funny for me at least.
