Watching Yuki Kajiura ANIME long after they aired.

Akino Arai's ED was moving and her vocal was perfect for that laid-back vibe-y feel of the song, especially with the animation during the video and the context of it being the ending song. I really like that song, more than the OP actually.

I am halfway through MADLAX now and really enjoying it. It's an upgrade to "Noir" in every way; story-wise, of course animation (2004 against Noir's 2001), and the characters.

Lots of interesting characters, relative to "Noir" at least. My favorites are Madlax and Margaret, who are like two sides of the same coin.

I think flashbacks are useful in weekly episodic shows to remind watchers of the context of a new revelation or the continuation of a story thread that had been left for a while.

The end of episode 16 with the first few seconds of that danceable instrumental track with the accordion (can't recall the name) was sweet. It was played at KajiFes.

The character interactions were some of my favorite from the 3 series, especially between Nadie and Ellie ("yessir") and of course Lirio.
The resolution at the end was somewhat anti-climactic for me. The bad guy ended up not being much of a threat.

You're blazing through it all I see.
I am trying to get an idea of the evolution of her writing in context of the shows she's fully handled.

I think "El Cadazor" was the best of the three in how it's music supported the show. It was nice to hear the new BGM/soundtrack songs coming in (cool to hear Emily singing) during the show.

The OP and ED of "Noir" are still the most memorable to me though, overall.

Now, I am on the KnK movies and it was better evolved in every way, starting with the improved Ufotable visuals and animation (more grounded and darker - Beetrain sanitized its depictions of violence as much as possible).

Of course, Kajiura's music is much elevated, especially writing for Kalafina. The use of the chants and instrumentals of the songs during the show are excellent and very evocative.

Since they are movies there's no defined OP, and new music is introduced during the movie and it ends with a unique ED. Beautiful stuff.
