A Kajiura SPECULAH thread, apparently.

Again? What's gotten into Kajiura with that girl??
I mean . . . She’s always loved her sopranos. And with all the Wakana range comparisons, I’m not surprised that Lino Leia’s getting a large amount of focus.

Would she have been my personal choice? Not particularly. But I can see the logic behind it.

We were already told by YK it's a "duet" by EMIKO and LINO LEIA.
(With live reports implying just a verse/refrain lead split, lol.)

We know nothing of what we would've gotten. We still have no original Joelle song. No new Yuriko song.

I don't know...
LORD, DEEMO, Fena, Progressive2, and she's in Rayearth...

but yes... no original songs...
Yes, about the Joelle and Yuriko songs. That remains a bummer, I guess what you mean by "original songs", is for them to be listed as FictionJunction feat. Joelle, or that they be not anime tie-ins?

I don't yet agree that LINO LEIA's becoming the main FJ girl, above the others.

And what did you mean by rito having a second song by now had she stayed around? ;/ I thought it was selfexplanatory. Anything original with Joelle or Yuriko in the lead (for the entire song, none of this tired different verse/refrain/bridge lead template).

At this point I'll even take a studio recorded "nocturne" cover for Joelle solo, even though I'd rather get something original. It doesn't even have to be under FictionJunction, since we're back to just that name and Kajiura can't make up her mind how to credit singers... Has to be YK produced though.

Heck, I'd even take "a very special Joelle FICTION" Yuki Kajiura album with newly studio recorded covers of all the old YK English songs that they do during YKL.

PS. Funny thing is Joelle got more soundtrack solos than Yuriko in the past 10 years (Kitchen revolution only I want to guess? Ignoring chorus work)...

For me, the logic would only make sense as a visual and vocal appeal to Japanese fans who want LINO LEIA+Emiko (as they warm up to her) to reflect a new Wakana+Keiko combo. I noticed that Keiko and LINO LEIA were often taking pics and hanging out together back in the day.

Looking back, Wakana was the main soprano during her time, because she led so many songs, and Kaori was the alternative soprano lead with a more rock/belt-y edge. Interesting though, that Wakana's default standing position in FJ was audience left, and in Kalafina was audience right, but never centre, while Keiko was always in the centre.

LINO LEIA isn't yet able to properly lead so many songs (including many sung by Wakana) and so the main singing duties are shared between Joelle and Kaori.

Why can't LL and Emiko be LL and Emiko rather than a new Wakana+Keiko combo?

Even if it ends up that way just because of Kajiura's compositions being the way they are (and have been), why do you as a fan have to put them in that comparison and under the guise of Kajiura doing something to apparently appease other fans? Like, maybe we are the problem if that's what Kajiura's actually thinking? lol.

i guess it is unavoidable since Wakana Keiko duet was first in YK's composition? and she almost always does this split alto soprano structure, which is becoming stale now.
I still appreciate LL and Emiko's voices though, which is kinda refreshing than hearing Keiko and Wakana in the same roles and song types again (nothing against them. really)

I was just assuming that since she and LL came in at the same time, and I think I read on here that something was potentially in the works before she left.

So we are not counting all the soundtracks where she sang kajiurago, e.g. the L.O.R.D.'s them?

You can count whatever you want. I already acknowledged Joelle's soundtrack appearances. Are you counting LL's soundtrack appearances?

If you want, keep thinking Kajiura is out there intentionally trying to recreate Wakana&Keiko duo dynamic (and ease fans into the new one) rather than just writing songs with low harmonies as she sees fit. I choose the latter.

Yes, I'm pressed today.

I agree. I am just going along with following the train of thought of LL being a new favorite of Kajiura's, which I don't see, yet.

The W+H replica was just a speculation from me, though I am not looking forward to it..

LL and Emiko are definitely very different from W+H. There can't even be an apples-to-apples comparison, since there's no one like Emiko, and LL is not a traditional lyric soprano like Wakana and Joelle.

I feel LL can fit the "J-POP commercial" role. She is a young girl with a sweet voice. Maybe Kajiura thinks LL would attract more anime fans if she took on the vocals for the Madoka Magica (kind of what Kalafina did years ago)...
As for the idea that the LL+E duo could be the new W+K, that makes some sense to me, but I’d rather wait and see if Kajiura brings in more covers or re-recordings of Kalafina songs... (I'm dreaming of a "YKL Kalafina special" lol).
In any case, Joelle deserves so much more recognition! Even the only song she sang as a lead was excluded from the broadcast of YK#21 (honoo no tobira)...

Heck, I'd even take "a very special Joelle FICTION" Yuki Kajiura album with newly studio recorded covers of all the old YK English songs that they do during YKL.
Would be amazing!
