OK, so I watched it...
- The start was gripping to me, like inviting into a story. The blend with Kaori worked well (Kaori controlled her power) throughout. I liked the emotion here.
- 2:19 The blend on "watashi" when Kaori joined Joelle was beautiful. They even blended vowels, like how they said what sounded like "whuh-tashi" rather than "wa-tashi".

- 2:26 On the "uru" her breath/tone were inconsistent. It felt like she was out of breath. Her powered long note with heavy vibrato at the end, just no. This was not the song for all that. It was supposed to be more wilty.

- After the middle violin solo, Joelle went much more dramatic/theatrical, which was distracting/attention grabbing, and I gotta say not the right feel for the song, though I don't know the lyrics at that point, so I am not sure if it was an interpretation of the meaning from her.
- I didn't really enjoy the soundscape with the addition of Yuriko's voice for the counterpoint of the kajiurago against Joelle's lead.

The voices didn't gel well to me for that section, only until 3:49 ntil the end, especially the last note with their vibratos blending beautifully (a highlight for me).
Conclusion: She sang more open-throated and free rather than controlled/constrained (use of mask) and sensitive as Yuuka demonstrated and maybe the song required (It's basically the Fena Pirate Princess from YKL#17 that she's given the tone I felt would better fit (although those were acoustic and gentler songs).
Voice characteristics played a part to me in defining the quality of Joelle's take. More energy/dynamic variation in Joelle's vocal generally.

There was also more halted breathing and use of cry effects; lots of short breaths, really. Essentially not properly legato. It was also missing the fragility of the original, though it was her take on the lyrics/emotion of the lyrics.
I would have been curious about LINO LEIA maybe taking the song. Kaori could also take it as long as she doesn't go full power, since she has the ability to go controlled in her tone.
