It is not the whole thing based on what's advertised, but looks like Miki is one of the muses. Makes me happy because so far from what i've seen, they haven't put her to too much work, even if there was a lor of Moira repertoire.
Yes, that's indeed MIKI Masuda.

She's still as good as ever from what I heard. Her voice is so distinct no matter who she's singing with.

Oh yeah.

Multiple comments under the video saying it sounded like "Honoo no Tobira". For so many to pick on this means it wasn't even subtle and definitely not mishearing.

Even the vocal styling of Yuuka Nanri was not too different from Ceui's take, and the key changes, the turnarounds after the bridge, and the vocalized (kajiurago-like) section.

The similarities were too apparent - almost blatant! It went from an inspired-by-Honoo no Tobira to almost a "let's just repeat most of the highlights".

I am wondering if Japanese audiences commented on it when it came out. Does Ceui compose herself or work with a composer?

One of my favorite parts of listening to this again was finally noticing (for the first time) the instrumental parts underneath Yuuka's lyrics. Just paying attention to them (rather than her singing) brought out a lot of the supporting beauty of the elements of FBM to the music we love.
