Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#21 - 60 Songs (July 26 - August 24, 2025)

Always hyped for the start of "Kioku no Mori", with that Hanae chant. No voice more haunting than hers in YK world.
Oh yea... I don't have any evidence but considering Hanae isn't credited on that song (or anything on Everlasting Songs) that is either a sample or Kajiura herself... Sorry for potentially ruining your image of the song. :p

---

If you're ever bored and have 90mins, do give that ykl#4 FJ YUUKA concert a go.
Such a great selection of FJY hits and with great attitude from everyone.

Best "Yorokobi" bridge too (which is a track I presume you have not heard either if "aikoi" is new to you). ;p Though I will never understand why Kajiura chose to simplify the second verse and not even lipsync/playback her album version vocals there...

It's sampling indeed. The same vocals are used in a track from Elemental gelade, though I forgot which one hue.

I really like JUNNA and I liked her Silly-Go-Round in ykl19, unlike most people here from what I remember, but whatever happened in her ykl21 aikoi was not it.
@CloisteredFlame Also here is the CD ver of the song https://youtu.be/5azL34UHfiA?

Was originally used in Tsubasa Chronicles as insert song and included in the soundtrack https://canta-per-me.net/discography/tsubasa4/ but later released in FJY album too, circus i think.

The thing is, I understand how Kajiura feels. Having that singer that increase the group’s so called combat power is an amazing thing. As a composer, I know what Kajiura talks about.
It simply means that Yuki Kajiura’s songs now have more variety and can be experimented more because of Emiko’s versatility.
Upon seeing Emiko’s version of Destination by FJY, I can see it clearly !! EMIKO is amazing 😻

You still didn't link the original tweet. XD

I don't exactly see your translation as YK saying ~Emiko was a game changer for her as a composer~ (paraphrasing your post). Kajiura is (1) saying Emiko boosted their current "combat power" and (2) making an observation that ~singers (or even more generally - performers) can further transform pre-existing compositions through their unique performance~. It's not like YK is implying Emiko made her REALIZE that a composition evolves beyond paper, if anything - Emiko is just the latest example for it.

Kajiura's liking what Emiko does & giving her props. I don't think YK's implying ~innovation for herself as a composer~, which is how I interpreted your "gamechanger" post. And maybe I'm hyperfocusing on that "gamechanger" and "as a composer" too much. v( '')v

I think the first sentence of that tweet alone could be interpreted as her flat out stating Emiko is a great tool that will allow YK to tap into different stuff/genres than with singers she'd worked with (boosting combat power indeed), and that absolutely is/could be true BUT that interpretation doesn't relate to the second sentence of that same tweet in any way.

But that's me interpreting your translation and your posts regarding it. :P
There's always static in transmissions, filling in blanks & overinterpretations.

😁 I know my Hanae. 🙃

Yeah I'm such a niche listener. I watch and rewatch what I'm used to and enjoy, until something else is suggested to me.

That's what I have all of you guys for (and YouTube at times). 🥰

Kajiura making a song and basically creating an overture and opening YKL with EMIKO isn’t a rush of inspiration for you? 😂
I am talking MUSICALLY too. As a composer myself too, EMIKO is a game changer for the Kajiura line up. Kajiura tweeted that she is excited for the line up and upcoming songs for that YKL 22.
And Kajiura just teased us with “ Just wait for it. “

So yeah.

I think I am getting hung up on certain words you are using and my interpretation of them.

I don't think your general impressions are wrong. I just don't think that single tweet you translated implies what I interpeted from your earlier post.

I kept editing my post above (to make myself more clear) so if you want to read it, please do. I think I'm going to drop the conversation.

So Yuriko is her original chorus singer. This time she got tagged out.

I am really in love with the unexpected level of experimentation Kajiura did in YKL21 with just changing up singers and vocal parts. Almost nothing is sacrosanct in that sense, though of course some singers fit some songs better (case in point).

The way Yuriko and Hikaru were positioned on stage with their wired/stand mics, and doing synchronized dances/movements really was the only time I've seen where they looked like legit hired backing vocalists or part of Yuuka's band. It was a very unique thing I've not seen replicated in Kajiura's lives.
