I agree.

The thing about Emiko is that she's a genre chameleon, always trying new musical ideas. I was shocked the time I heard her sing a song with strong Japanese traditional instrumentation. She's done pop, light jazz, theatre, a cappella, and with Kajiura is doing dance tracks and more choral classical-oriented fare (kajiurago).

She's just got a voice, charisma, varied musicality and hunger (as Kenjikun said earlier) that gives a power to her personality and her performance. You cannot see Emiko doing the chill or easy stuff. She's always on the edge and wants to be a big star.

I can imagine if Kajiura gave her a Latin-language song to work on she would relish the challenge! I mean, Emily Bindiger also sang "canta per me" with her own flair!
 
At first listen I didn't really care for it. I love the Kajiurago, but the violin seems a little out of place for me. After a few listens I really like it now. I'm glad Kajiura is giving other singers a shot and I love Keiko in her songs. But Emiko is really good and I'm sure over time she'll catch up with the others.
