My introduction xD

:hi: Welcome to the forums, Atlas!
So lucky you already got to meet them! Still dreaming of being able to meet them live someday *0*

That's quite interesting, as you have no prior experience of Kajiura's music (I suppose) but is now drawn to Kalafina. In my case, I knew Kajiura long before I discovered Kalafina, but I wasn't exactly a fan. At the moment I still really can't call myself that, but now I want to discover her other works and honestly it looks like... a long and overwhelming journey ahead. But I don't mind! :P And I hope you won't as well. Let's discover more of her works together~ And please do listen to more Kalafina songs. Just when you have thought you've found your favorite, you'll hear more awesome stuff and feel more confused of picking which one is best for you! Ahahaha XD (although lately there's been much debate about their recent releases but... I think I still like most of it :D)

Again, welcome and enjoy your stay~ See you around.

Hello hello, welcome to CPM :hi:.

It doesn't seem too unusual to not hear of Kajiura first if you don't pay attention to soundtrack and score, but not knowing her through Kalafina is a little odd. Either way, check into some of her material, it's pretty good stuff. I'd recommend the Puella Magi Madoka Magica Music Collection (which includes Magia) or the Le Portrait de Petit Cossette soundtrack, they're both from different eras of her work and both amazing.

As per usual, be sure to listen to the b-sides of Kalafina's singles (especially Utsukushisa from Progressive and lirica from Storia) some of their best work is there :goodjob:. You don't seem to know too many songs by them so far, so might be worth getting hold of the 5th Anniversary Live, although I'd recommend Red Moon as a starting album.

Also yay, more Touhou fans :cheer:.

Who are you calling an oldie? Gerroff my lawn! :anger:

j/k.

Welcome! And best of luck working through the discographies and being overwhelmed at how much great stuff you haven't heard yet. :goodjob:
You must be one of the elders here :p

Thanks so much!!! No trust me - im such a noobie when it comes to music haha i cant believe I have listened to ms kajiura's stuff for almost three years and didn't know it was Her majesty who composed such beautiful music! I must apologize for that :((

@KanaRinGasu welcome and congratulations on seeing Kalafina and meeting one of them even if really briefly.

Enjoy your time here and feel free to ask lots of questions about Yuki Kajiura's music.

Welcome to CPM, Atlas!

You're lucky to see Kalafina and Kajiura-sama on their first visit in US. Hope to see them live in the future. I recommend you to listen to FictionJunction, See-saw and YK's soundtracks as well, if you have some time. :)

Welcome to CPM, it's great you got to meet Kalafina back in 2009 I must say I'm jealous. I'm finding a lot of new members are introduced thanks to Kalafina and it's easy to see why they've been pumping out albums left and right lately. When I got to know Kajiura See-Saw had just reunited but disbanded again shortly after and that was when she was really gaining steam in the industry but before shows like Tsubasa Chronicle, Madoka, SAO and Fate/Zero helped explode her popularity.

I'm rambling too much; welcome again.

Hi everybody :) My name is Atlas. I'm from the United States of America.
I came to this forum because of my newfound love for Kalafina, and I keep finding this page every time I google Kalafina songs haha!
Hi there, I'm new too, nice to here someone got to Yuki Kajiura through Kalafina just like I did. :tea:

Totally, I want to meet them in person sooo badly that I sometimes even imagine those days when I actually meet them, lol. :ohoho:
And absolutely true about can't pick which one is the best. I can't even tell what my favorite are (I like almost all of Kalafina's songs so...), but if anyone ask for recommendation, I would say Red Moon (dark) & Eden (light), those are the 2 songs that make me crazy about Kalafina. :stars:

I love red moon to death! :hearts: About Eden... it's a hit-or-miss song for me, actually (misleading banner ohoho)
I don't want to imagine meeting them since I don't want to get disappointed or rather it's just my imagination being weak and all >_<, but I'm sure it'll be fabulous either way! :TdT:

The only way you'd be disappointed in regards to meeting them is not being able to meet them :touched:. They're such lovely people.

Choosing a single best song is never easy (P.S. it's Sandpiper :knife:) when so many of their songs are amazing. About half of their discography is viable best song level and a good portion of what's left is still wonderful in every way. They only have a handful of songs I don't care for and that kind of consistency is why I love them so much .

hi Atlas.. welcome to CPM. nice to meet you :tea:
and by the way, i think 23 is not too old. hahahaha
