I tried to search for a thread about Madlax osts and some comments on it but I couldn't so I decided to start a thread for that purpose. I guess I will post some reviews on other osts because it's so fun while listening to them!

So I start with Madlax O.S.T.2 because I've seen people mentioning it a lot.

We are one/Madlax : Melody and instrumentation are great but alas I'm not a fan of Yuuka's voice.
Your place: lovely violin. kind of reminds me of the missing violin version of Maybe Tomorrow.
open your box: interesting track and combo of electronica and brass.
fall on you: again a classic electronica track.
Lost Command is one of my favs. So haunting. Kaori Nishina is great here.
Saints could be one of my most favorite ambient/electronica/vocal tracks composed by Yuki although the melody line is short.
a plot: great atmospheric music.
people are people: one of my all-time favs. harpsichord rocks.
cannabinoids: great electronica/vocal/guitar track.
if I die/Friday: lovely violin again.
cold/Gazth-Sonika: teensy bit repetitive but not bad.
places of the holy : same as Lost Command but with Yuri! and harpsichord!
we're gonna groove & street corner: all-time fav category for accordion.
the rest I kinda like except she's gotta go and inside your heart.

There is an incredible amount of variety here. Almost every track is respected as a stand-alone work and has their own characteristics. Hope this will resurface in the future works.

^ Yup, cpm was made since 2007, so anything before that year doesnt have a thread! Good idea! :)

(if anyone needs any of the unreleased osts just tell me, i have everything but tsubasa)

concerning your last 2 lines, tsubasa and petit cossette were like that too (and think that she did all 3 in 2004-5, lots of inspiration at that time!

I have a few from tsubasa, not sure if it's all the unreleased tracks out there, though
Also, I saw that there are some unreleased PH tracks? Do you have those? :plz:
And since I'm on the topic of such music, I'm listening to the Satoyama episodes and will rip the tracks that aren't on the OST if they haven't been already : )

mai-hime, elemental gerade, xenosaga, and the velveteen rabbit are from 2004/2005 too

Guronti said when WfS was released that the Finland episode had an unreleased track.
 
I always got the impression that Madlax was one of her more unpopular works. I personally thought it was one of her less impressive soundtracks until I heard those unreleased pieces of music. The fact they were never released just depresses me.

I found 5. But I can't tell whether they (excluding #3) are the same tune or are slightly different? Will have to listen to them more closely tomorrow. And since there is someone singing in M05, maybe that song/tune is a traditional Finnish song?
Removed only the narrator's voice from M01 and M05 because I didn't feel that the male voices were distracting (and it would've taken too much of the actual bgm with it)
 
@ aki: M1, 2, 4, 5 are the same track, since the finnish song fits with the instrument's melody, it might be something inspired by that song that they added to the bgm

I will try to find the Pandora Hearts ones, I added them because I remember that someone has menthioned them (Kazado) and I remember them too

In which episode is the Madoka one ?
 
^ Ιndeed, the only common points in Noir and Madlax are:
- same writer, studio, director, composer
- Mireille is kinda like Madlax and Kirika like Margaret
- lots of unneeded flashbacks
- girls with guns

other than that there're completely different

I don't see how the characters are alike, but that's spoiler territory. There's not even that many flashbacks.
 
Noir, Madlax and El Cazador de la Bruja are all girls with guns series. Madlax OST is one of my favorite Kajiura works, maybe because of the connection the music gives to me. Fine arrangement and instrumentals. Peace in your Mind, Madlax, Margaret, Nowhere, Elenore, Vanessa are just a few that I love.

Wow @ grunty's undying love for Madlax. Anyone know where to download it? Been wanting to watch the series but I always forget lol.
 
let's post comments on each! I'll try to watch madlax and the others when I find the time. I have listened to madlax unreleased, thanks to grunty, but not others I think except xenosaga.
