Announced some time back.
Two additional concerts, one for Tokyo (Ikebukuro) and one for Shizuoka (Hamamatsu).
It is likely that new songs will be added to the current program.

Seems strange now that Rebellion is out that they don't appear to be doing any of the material from it. There's some really grand stuff in there, too. Love to hear Absolute Configuration done with an orchestra somehow.

god I would love to hear "surgam identidem" and "Nux Walpurgis" live! Two of my favorite pieces out of the PMMM OST mostly because of the loud dynamics and the arrangements.

I'll probably try to go since it's a day after yk special. Will catch a midnight flight back. All I need is the first half of the performance afterall, since the SNK ost is utter crap.

この度、弊社が7月20日に開催する「Anime Symphonia」公演（以下、「本公演」といいます）での演奏曲目を以下のように変更いたします。

【昼の部】
「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン」「アラカルト枠」「魔法少女まどか☆マギカ」

【夜の部】

　当初、発表しておりました「進撃の巨人」楽曲に関しましては、企画当初より日本音楽著作権協会（JASRAC）から演奏許諾を得、作曲家からの編曲許諾を得、演奏を計画しておりました。しかし、権利保有会社が留保している権利を侵害しているとして楽曲の演奏の差し止め請求を受けました。弊社としては演奏実施のためにギリギリまで交渉を続けましたが、最終的にオーケストラで演奏することが権利侵害にあたるおそれがあると7月15日に判断されました。

　このことを受け、大変残念ではございますが今回は進撃の巨人の演奏を見送り、上記の通りの演目変更とさせて頂きます。「進撃の巨人」楽曲の演奏に期待をして頂いていたお客様各位におかれましては、期待を削いでしまう形となってしまい大変心苦しい決断です。しかし、権利侵害を犯してまで演奏することは劇伴音楽の素晴らしさを皆様と共有したいと願う、我々日本劇伴交響楽団の活動趣旨ともそぐわない事になってしまいます。どうぞ、皆様の寛容なご理解を頂戴できれば幸いです。

Well this is hilarious. Now I can't leave the live early anymore. Lol
 
Tiny review.

Honestly, I didn't like quite a number of the arrangements. For a lot of the shorter songs, they tried to make it a lot longer by playing the same melody over and over with different instruments. It got a bit too long and suffered for it because really, the melody itself isn't long enough for such an extended play. For the songs like Surgam Identidem and Nux Walpurgis, it was great because the song is long enough and they didn't really need to arrange it as much as the others (Agmen Clientum, for example, was kinda hard to recognise). In Venari strigas, they replaced the electric guitar solo with.. I can't remember, most likely a horn type instrument. They did play the solo note for note, haha. In YK's own lives, that's always a free for all segment.

My main gripe is with the occasional additions they do. A lot of the times, what they add clashes with the melody. In sagitta luminis, they had the strings play constantly at the front, as softly as they can, a constant note. Funnily, it made the song sound kind of scary.

Overall, I'd say drop by if you're in town when it happens but don't fly to Japan just for this. Especially not after a YK live. I couldn't help but compare the performances.

Edit:
Oh yeah, they had an encore with a song totally not related to the anime symphonia lol. Ode to joy. They even invited 10 or so singers down for it.
