Xenosaga HD Collection

7 billion humans. She must know I exist
Today, there has been some "sort" of light shone on the subject.

Katsuhiro Harada has tweeted;

To Xenosaga fan community.

"I do understand that you all are desiring "Xenosaga HD collection".
Also, I do appreciate all your passionate comments.
I do understand your feeling to "tweet every day until the day Xenosaga HD collection comes real".
However, what I need in order to achieve your dream, is not to have tweets from the "same person" sent to me every day.
It has been a long time since Xenosaga has been released.
It really brings back memories of those days they were developing the first Xenosaga staying up all night, when the TEKKEN Project was also staying up all night on the same floor at office.

A while back, triggered by the overseas version of Project X zone, I have conducted a research and calculated if there is a business chance for Xenosaga HD remaster.
It was a very simple research at that time. Yet, research does cost money.
And at that time, I was not able to seek business chance.
In other words, I was not able to find the necessary market size that will pay for the development fee needed to create the HD remaster.
Back then, the reactions on SNS and unique users were rather few in number.
It may be that I didn't work hard enough.
Measures such as kickstarters are as of last resort, and at any rate we will not have a chance of winning as it stands now. It will not gather people by crowdfunding without creating some kind of big movement to support it.
To be honest, I was about to give up and I'm troubled.

What I need, are the voices from many fans.
This is a little different from having "messages sent every day from the same person".
Although I do understand the deep love for the game, more than that, the cheers from as many "unique users" as possible is what is needed.

Digging further, I will not be able to believe comments like "I'll buy 100 copies!". Most companies will not believe in it.
It is not realistic for one person to tweet 100 times every day, or buy 100 copies alone.
It's more realistic if you bring 10 fans to the game (not to mention, it wouldn't mean anything by having the same person suddenly creating alternate accounts. I will be able to tell those).

What's important in these kinds of cases is the number of unique users.
It means more to have 100 people mentioning they want the game one time, rather than having one person repeating it 100 times.
A miracle would happen if several tens of thousands are gathered at the end.
Of course, involvement from the company is needed for this but..."

Do you think there is a high possibility we'll get a HD remaster?
Maybe hopefully see the last 3 parts in development? :tea:

Interesting :D
I wonder if Monolith (developer) will still make the HD remasters on the PS consoles? Seeing that they were already partly acquired by Nintendo since 2007 and is currently been developing new games exclusive to them.

please follow the first intended scenario, six episodes and fill in the gaps. have both Yasunori Mitsuda and Yuki Kajiura work on the music.

how's that? :)

although I am really doubtful that they will continue the series. They may have an hd remake but that would be it. The space environment and KOSMOS in PS4!

Well if that person who sents twits to him everyday makes a movement to gather fans of the game to support the HD release, these is hope XD

I think we as CPM could help on spreading the word if needed.

wat11: remember that Kajiura did only the cinematics of the 2nd Xenosaga, the actual game music was done by an other composer.

What i understand is that they first need to release the HD remaster, and if it sells well, then start developping the new games.

In all honestly, my only interest would be Xenosaga III and only if it had higher quality audio than the original (where half the music had lower than satisfactory sampling frequency).

My experiences with "HD remakes" though show that they tend to NOT upgrade audio quality from the original versions. Prince of Persia HD trilogy had old audio (The Two Thrones in particular suffered from low frequencies). Rayman 3 HD had old audio (again low frequency). Shadow of the Colossus HD had old audio. Etc...

Then add that it is game No3 that I would want (could take a long time unless they do a trilogy right off the bat) and we couldn't rip the audio if it's only on new systems which aren't hacked yet...

So... I dunno if I care for this.

W-what if they include a disc with unreleased music from the third game? One can dream

And footsteps were loud as fuck (specially KOS-MOS's) so you could barely hear the music.

Well, HD releases are usually multiple games, except for The Last of Us.

^ That reminds me... There was a delicious violin-only version of maybe tomorrow. I posted about it some time ago...

It will take a 'miracle' to convince them so don't keep your hopes too high.

Not sure if it's the same but I remember an instrumental version (strings instead of vocals) of Maybe Tomorrow. It plays when
Allen tells Shion that he loves her, and gets his shit slapped by Kevin.

Yes it is the very same. I remember you in that conversation too!

I remember only violin and drums and maybe piano at the end. Would be fabulous if they ever release it.

Are you sure it's cello? I was sure it was violin. Can't open YouTube right now. Anyway, it's much better than the vocal version.
