Hey guys i live here in texas and thanks to ticketmasters will call policy i have to show up really 3 days before the concert in order to pickup my ticket or ill be screwed if i arrive any later than this. Due to this unforseen circumstance. I myself have been looking up online as much as possible for the Safest way to get to this concert and ultimately avoid getting robbbed, shot, or killed. These Drug cartels are Crazy and im not putting my safety to chance over a concert. Has anyone here traveled to mexico city by bus from the US? if so what is the SAFEST way to do this? what about flying in directly? i know thats alot safer but will cost a little bit more. Im not trying to blow my bank account here. Im looking for a way to cut cost here while maximizing my SAFETY!!!!

Honesty, you never know what will happen but if I were you I would spend the extra money to fly in. Safety is important… plus you're already spending money so might as well enjoy your time without having to worry about your well-being. I also read about quite a few U.S. citizens being killed. Don't roam around sketchy places or by yourself… stay near the venue/your lodgings. My two cents.

A question to all mexican users of the forum (are there any mexicans in here anyway?) is the theater located in a safe place? Can I go and line up crazy early or is it dangerous?

i thought you could pick them up 3 hours before? i saw this on their fb page (i think lovejapan). safety in mexico is pretty straightforward---i frequent mexico and have never feared for my safety, even with all the drug cartels situation going on lol just mind your own business and play it safe as you would here in america. it would help if you know some spanish to get to places.

I've only been to Mexico twice, both times in resort cities and not Mexico City. I feel perfectly safe walking and roaming on the streets in those towns and people are generally helpful. Stay in well-lit areas and crowded places and I don't see a reason to worry.
Though I heard elsewhere in Mexico where cartel activities are known to be frequent, countries have advised against going there. That's just a very specific area of Mexico.
