Track Differences in OST & Anime

Lorde-Kowz

I have reached Yuki nirvana
So I was re watching Kara no Kyoukai 2, and I got to the scene where Kokutou is humming "Singing In the Rain", and when "Rain goes up/M07" starts playing it has bass and drums. The tracks included in the OST and Music Collection don't have bass and drums.

Another one is Unhallowed from Petite Cossette. In the OVA, the track starts with piano, and then the strings and drums come in. But the OST version starts with strings.

Any others?

(Also, sorry George if there's already a thread about this. I couldn't find one) :innocent:

Communication Breakdown.. In game it has less vocals. Or maybe none I don't remember. It's from xenosaga but it's relevant. I just noticed it a few days ago.

In Xenosaga III, hepatica is used as the boss theme for the final T-elos battle but it never transitions into the (KOS-MOS) instrumental portion.

There are many tracks that are different in some way between the anime or other work and the soundtrack.
Bee-train loved to do this short of thing. It is less in Sony-era works though.

BeeTrain shows had a lot of alternates (many of which remain unreleased) but I don't think there were that many "different" anime versions of CD tracks? Like the kajiurago version of project leviathan never appeared in the show.

I just remembered another one. This one actually bugged me.

The track Killing from Noir 2 didn't have sax when used in the anime, just synth. It sounds kinda sucky without the sax.

F/Z played Fate to Zero and This Day, Never Again without the percussion a few times.

i wanna ask first, what was the track they used on madoka rebellion movie trailer? was that 'another episode' from the soundtrack? the flute and strings melodies are there but the one in the trailer has drum on it.

The track from the teaser is For the next episode, from the Movies 1&2 OST. The one used in Rebellion is Another episode.
Same melody and structure, just slightly different arrangement.

ah thank you! i forgot where did i put movie 1&2 ost and i rarely listened to it... i really like that track in the trailer.

I'm pretty sure Ritardando has the OST, just doesn't know where he saved it.

If not, then I already have it on MF so no need to upload, hue.

Oooh another one.

Rolling Down the UMN. The game version is missing the drums.

You're right Bee Train always had plenty of alternates and edits from the studio OST to the anime music. .hack//SIGN had a tremendous amount of alternates with the songs, many a cappella versions some instrumental variations, there was always a nice version of "The world" played with a flute and "A Stray Child" Had a nice version with a vibraphone.

In Tsubasa Chronicle the very first time we hear "Requiem for the Evil" it's an a cappella version. There was a really great version of "Ship of Fools" with Eri signing the normally instrumental break.
