Quick overview of the Yam Scrolls, from the Origin to the facts that led to the Yam-Wars.

Note that every reference shall be further developed, eventually.

Yam is the common name for some species in the psuedo tuber family of root vegitables. They are perennial herbaceous vines cultivated for the consumption of their starchy tubers in Africa, Asia, Latin America.

The first Yam sprouted long, long ago, in a time before time. His recordings are but legends now (and they will be referred further on) and even though nobody today can fully understand his mean or purpose, he stands among the myths as the true yam god. His name was Yamou, The Mighty.
Yamou possessed ultimate power. He was able to control time and space. A universal entity controlling the balance of existence. It was he who created the yams and thought them the ways of the force.
Yamou had two twin sons: Yamo and Yamu. And three daughters: Yama, Yame and Yami.
They ruled over the yams, centuries before the yam-wars and the fall of Yambo.
The harmony among the yam gods lasted until around the year 2750 of the second yam-age, when the great Yamou fixed a treaty with the race of the shins and granted them the power of yam-users, to help him win the war against the potatoes and the radishes.
After 400 years, the war was won by the yams and shins, but the treaty was not undone, as both races seemed to coexist in balance. That fact left Yami most displeased, for she held nothing but hatred against the shins. In the year 3112 Yami murdered Yamou in an attempt to take his place as the Yam-Ruler, fact that would ultimately lead to the legendary Yam-Wars.
After murdering her father and while attempting to escape, Yami was confronted by her sister Yame and both clashed with all their power. In the end, Yami slaughtered her sister and absorbed her powers, completing her turn to the dark side.
Yami escaped the Yam-Realm and joined forces with the fruits to come back and claim leadership over the yams.

Of course I am questioning the scrolls, you didn't allow them to pass through the hands of your faithful head of archiving.

The Rise of Yambo

The yam year of 3211 was the darkest hour the yams have experienced so far. The invading army led by Yami had taken all the yam-cities, save for one. The city of Iam was the last yam-fortress against the evil god. The city was now under siege for the past five years and it was ready to fall to the might of the Burmese army.

It was then, in the year of 3212, that a great warrior yam emerged from the south shores of Benin. Against all odds, he single-handedly destroyed the whole Burmese army in 15 minutes. His name was Yambo.

[ Yambo, the half yam-god, son of Yamo and Ube, grew up in a little village, west of Cotonou. At the age of 5, Yambo’s village was taken by the local 5-star hotel and he saw his mother being cooked and turned into a water-yam cake. He miraculously escaped death with the help of his uncle, who, as a punishment, was turned into a mashed yam salad. Badly hurt and alone, Yambo’s death was near. But then he was found by an old shin sage who saved him and trained him in the shin arts for the next 10 years. Unfortunately, in a hot summer night, the old sage died spontaneously (some believe it was out of boredom). Nevertheless, Yambo was now a mighty warrior, trained in the deadly arts. At the age of 16, he went on a quest for Yamato, the forbidden sword (see picture below), forged with lost arts, a long time ago when Yams and Potatoes were still brothers and when the world was still a beautiful place (YAM + potATO). Yambo killed over 500 potatoes while attempting to reach the sword shrine. The shrine was protected by Pota, a legendary potato warlord. Pota descended on Yambo with no merci. Injured and tired, the yam warrior could do little to defend himself. Everything was lost and Yambo felt the cold embrace of death. In this last hour, Yambo’s godly blood awoke. In a burst of fury, he was able to knock Pota out and break into the shrine to finally retrieve the legendary sword. While holding the sword, Yambo’s peel became like fire. He could kill 100 potatoes with every slash and from this day forward he was known as Yambo, the fiery. ]

Yambo, then, changed the tide of the yam-wars and led an elite squad of yams against Yami's hordes. But that's for anothe chapter :tea:

Side Story: Birth of the Shins

The very first Shins was said to be born from the void of darkness but no one really knows his true history. The very first Shin was also known as the nameless one was said to own magical power, so vast that it destroy everything with just his presence, Being lonely and bored, he multiplied and split his power equally to all his clone and thus the glorious race was born.

However, due to an error while cloning himself only male Shins were born. They then tried to create female Shins but it was for naught, not realizing what they had created, a race which everyone now called “humans” were born.

The Great War between potatoes and yams started no long after the birth of the humans which rumors said it was partly due to the backstabbing of the humans. Looking at their creation is utter disappointment, the Shins left their land in order to find their new Utopia.
