Tags (annoying thing but i want them >.<)

I have this really annoying problem ever since i generally listen musing on my computer... TAGS a magical stuff that tells you everything about the song if you like it but "huh, what was the title again? NO wait i don't even know who made it :O?!!!"

Ao yeah i'd though i'd had no problems with taging Kajiura's music but that isn't so <.<
I've seen million different tags for her music and i'm not really setisfied with what i get when downloading <.<

Anyway counting off the preference of kanji or romanji tag.... WHO TEH HECK SHOULD I TAG?!!!!
(just in case you're not clear by now i'm talking about Artist tag)
Obviously most of OSTs should go under Kajiura Yuki (or Yuki Kajiura or 梶浦由記,etc)
But what about ... hmmmm... lets see The LOVELESS op/ed single?
I have Michiyuki under 引田香織 and Tsuki no Kaasu under 翁鈴佳 ... but what about vocalless version? same gos for pretty much any otehr single like that.... and what about nipponsei taging "I reach for the sun" and "forest" under Emily's name ...... I kind of want o stick to the official crediting... like for most of songs with Itou Eri in Tsubasa... they are credit "name of teh song~feat. Itou Eri"(title of teh song) while most people tag it as "Kajiura Yuki feat. Itou Eri" (under astist) ... but thats wrong.... aikoi (in 4th OST) is credits as "aikoi/FictionJunction YUKKA" clearly stating that the title of teh song is aikoi while the artist is FJY... so ... what to do when tehre is no booklets... is tehre any reliable sourse which woudl help me write down right tags?
I'm not asking this because of Kajiura disco only... i'm asking this because of ma ober 100GB big music folder and i'd finally like to order all the tags teh way tehy soudl be... but liek i said i get in trouble when big names like Kajiura (Kanno, Iwasaki,etc) make everything but somebody else sings it and everybody are saying its their song (while it isn't really >.<)

Yes i'm complicating like always, but i really need some serous opinions.

you should use the tag for the composer

and for sources... fansites, cd databases

I like having my own tags correct because I am an obsessive compulsive perfectionist. Also, I’m sending these names to my last.fm page so that I can keep track of my listening habits and it doesn’t help any if my tags are wrong.

I tag all karaoke tracks with the same artist who performs the original, not the composer. Thus, Reika Okina is the artist for “Tsuki no Curse ~Vocalless Ver.” and Kaori Hikita for “Michiyuki ~Vocalless Ver.”.

If I remember correctly, the back cases of both El Cazador soundtracks explicitly do credit Emily Bindiger as performing “forest” and “I reach for the sun”. And nipponsei’s ID3 tags suck so much that I have to fix them every time I download anything they put up.

The CD cases make Eri Itou’s Tsubasa Chronicle songs look like 梶浦由記 – ship of fools ～feat. vocal 伊東恵里. I simply put Eri down as the artist because I label Kajiura’s vocalists as the artist if the booklet credits them as the vocalist (hence why I was asking for scans in that thread).

Try searching for the album on Yahoo! Auctions because photos of the back cases and/or close-ups of the track listing may be available (worked for me before). If it fails, try the artist / record label’s website.

Yes i'm complicating like always, but i really need some serous opinions.

Tagging all of that will literally take forever and an eternity… it’s so much better to retag the tracks correctly once you get them so that you don’t have to worry about mass-correcting ID3 tags later on. Good luck!

well... . . i feel like the only one with a neat iPod... my songs are about 97% right tagged..


i tag kajiuran stuff liek OSTs as 'Yuki Kajiura' and google the openings.

i know how you feel about the wrong tags...

all my Noir was tagged 'Kajiura_Yuki', and some of the titels were wrong. (like 'Family emotions' instead of 'Fammily affection')
