Well, I finally did it. After four months, I finally got around to uh, recorded my next cover :cheer:

Let me know what you think please!

So I'm either going to upload Progressive or Eternal Blue (TV-size) next. (I recorded all three in one day.) Whichever one gets more votes :plot:

BRILLIANT! I seriously never thought that Sprinter would sound this beautiful on piano! :dote:

This is definitely a very VERY VERY Good cover of Sprinter! Well done! :goodjob:

I suppose if you had improvised a bit more on the lyrical, expressive sections towards the closing bits (especially if you could suddenly go from mf to pp too), it would have been perfect! Well done, once again! Keep it up! We definitely need more fan covers like these!

EDIT/ADD: My choice of vote goes to Progressive cos Eternal Blue has been done on Youtube already and tbh, I don't think it's a nice one to cover. Progressive can be a bit more fun, to play around with, I should think. Feel free to truncate it if you think it's necesssary.

^ Thanks! I'm so glad you like it :sohappy:

I'm not sure exactly what you mean in the parentheses, though :confu:

EDIT

I think the sound might be a little out of sync...hope it's not noticeable :spotlight:

You're welcome! Hmm, I'm not exactly trained in music...so pardon the bad expression there. :XD:

I was referring to using dynamics as form of expression in the music. Cos I noticed that you have re-arranged a little bit of the ending section (which is a nice touch). So I was hoping a little more could be done (kinda like the cherry on top of the cake effect) so as not to make it sound like a single loudness all the way in the song. Just to give the song a bit more shape and volume.

^ Oh, I see. You've got a point... :ayashii:

Well, I play along with the songs a lot in order to play them on tempo and make sure that the melody is all correct, so I suppose that's why I keep most of it loud, since the song itself pretty much stays like that throughout.

Also, I've been told that I get very 'into it' when I play, so maybe that's part of the reason too :ohoho:

I'll work on it :plot:

^ While it's nice to stay true to the song, I think that approach works largely for voice covers.

The piano/acoustic version by itself should be a different take on the rock/metal piece. Which stands to reason that there should be more room to express a bit when playing (a bit like your Kagayaku cover).

With that in mind, I'm defintely looking forward to hear your next work! :XD:

Re:

Honestly, I didn't think it was possible to do a cover of "sprinter" and do it any justice but this is just plain awesome... and given that "sprinter" is one of my favorite songs of all time, I'm more prone to nitpick than others (I think). I like that you've somehow managed to nail the essential parts of the melody. I also think that the left hand during the verses fit well.

The only nitpick that I'd say is that left hand part during the non-verse sections gets a tad bit repetitive after a while - I was expecting it to be busier.

But otherwise, excellent job.

^ Thanks! I'm glad you like it :dote:

I understand about the left hand - I do try to vary it, but there's only so much I can do without making a lot of mistakes :desksweat:

I'll work on that too :plot:

i love your version of Sprinter. i felt so comfortable listening to it. :XD:

That was amazing!!! :dote: :dote: :nosebleed: please keep on!!

I vote for progressive becausei t would be better to wait for the full version of Etrnal blue before you cover it :XD:

^ Thanks both of you  :sohappy:

I think you're right about Eternal Blue...now that I think about it, I did the same thing for Magia, and it's worked out pretty well :ayashii:

So Progressive it is! :V:
