I see some FfictionJunction videos in youtube has been brought down by sony.

As far as i know, FictionJunction is not belong to sony.

This for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej_aTVuqUBI

"FictionJunction @ ..."
This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement from claimants including:

* Sony Music Entertainment Inc.
* Sony Music Japan International Inc.
* TV TOKYO Corporation(CVP)

Sorry about that.

WTF?
Sony got the rights for Wakana and Keiko's voices/faces? lol

Eh, with that particular example I don't see a problem.

That video is not available because THE ACCOUNT got shitlisted, not for the contents of this particular video... The account probably had videos of Kalafina or some other Sony acts.

Still that's a confusing way to present it.
Sigh, how many accounts has Sony screwed up already? Does picking copyright fights with the internet give back that much profit? :waa:

Sony should jump on the Youtube bandwagon like some of the other big companies. Their artists' vids on YT = more exposure.

^ No thanks especially to those "download Youtube vids for free"-sites, audio-ripping software, and whatever not... :psst:

So what, I wonder. Of course, Sony may be greedy about PVs since they tend to pack them on LE DVDs. Flying Dog, on the other hand, doesn't practice this, so they don't seem to give a damn whether the PV will be watched or downloaded. In this case, the only serious infringement of copyright would be someone grabbing the PV and streaming it on their commercial channel or something like that, without paying any royalties to copyright holders. Otherwise, PVs are mostly advertisement for the actual single - what money do they bring by themselves? Especially since the budgets hardly look half the ones western pop music industry usually dumps out. :ohoho:
As to LE packing... If Sony thought about including something exclusive and unaired in the DVD (like a PV making clip or an interview about the single, or some printable art/sheet music and whatnot), they would hardly have to worry about the money loss. sure, all these would end up in the Internet anyway, but that's AFTER the initial sales which usually make the weather :plot: :ayashii:

Like that would happen :psst:

How many times have I wished for a studio PV, or a behind-the-scenes recording documentary... :cry:

i'm aware of this too. .what is it with Sony.i'm starting to ____ them

Actually, they can take a leaf out of mainstream labels like Avex, etc. and go with truncated versions (about 1:30 to 2:00?) of their PVs online. Doesn't seem to dent profits one bit....

But then again, it's Sony :psst:

Oh yeah I LOVE SME.... :blood:

but grunty is right, I don't think that sony has taken down the FJ-video. It's just that the uploader have other SME stuff on his/her account. And after 3 deleted videos the account got suspended.

Oh yeah I LOVE SME....

Don't we all. :psst: Although at least the fact that they lately tend to release the majority of the music Yuki writes for a particular OST, makes them a bit more tolerable. :tea:
And of course, IIRC Yuki+Aniplex has always meant the result which will be memorable NOT ONLY for the great music. :plot:
